Wolves 3-0 Leicester: Verdict Thread

He's missed some absolute sitters as well, should probably be on more than that.

Definitely as said if we offered this return back in August we would all have been very happy.

On the other hand, missing those doesn’t seem to negatively impact him. He’s got a “short memory” for those.

So should have more but other players, all else equal, may well have scored less.

…am I persuaded yet?
Alan, the third (and even 2nd) replay of the penalty, you can clearly see Vardy stamp his foot into Sa’s groin/top of leg and then go down. I’m surprised replays haven’t reached America yet… ;)

Yep. But hasn't also got a really good conversion rate v other top strikers?
Absolutely. Those are all seriously glaring misses though, that's all. He could easily be pushing for 20.

There's still work to do with his general play but he gets in good positions and scores a good range of goals. That's a lovely finish yesterday.

Good build up play for his goal too, something he gets criticised for not doing. He gathered it in in the centre circle, turned and knocked it out to Cunha and then got on his bike for the return ball.

No wonder Sa was pissed off with him!

I thought Vardy's temperament was good yesterday, a number of times I thought he was going to react, to an offside or a challenge, or the crowd and he didn't.

Coming out of the ground, I saw a pissed Leicester fan trying to make an "official complaint" to the OB for the mean songs directed at him :D

Their reaction was along these lines

Easily

Yesterday
2 x vs Forest at home
Spurs at home

Probably some others

Are we counting the chance in the first half yesterday too? Don't know if I'm being harsh in thinking he might have done better with that one too. Obviously not as glaring as the one in the second.

That one was tough, I don't think I'd count that as a glaring miss.

Tbf I think the criticism was deserved at the time, not necessarily through his own fault, but things weren’t sticking. He’s improved that massively since since a certain jet-puffed dessert came in, and it seems to have given him more confidence without Munetsi, as well.

You could see it right from the moment he got the ball. He absolutely wanted it. I’ve not been 100% convinced about JSl yet, but right in that moment he provided a glimpse of the all round ability and real hunger for a goal that I always think was best shown by Raul with ‘that’ header against Liverpool.

He was deliberately making up for his miss. If he can find that within himself on a regular basis, and it’s all in the mind, he’ll be a hell of a striker.

Little girl next to me yesterday told her mum that it's since he had a chat with Bully that he has been so much better. She must have only been about 10 :)

What a time to be a wolves fan 6 wins in a row. This was a game in the past would've been a bogey game. 5 in a row, safe from relegation, a bottom team coming in, big expectations from us the fans, would've been followed by a horrible last second corner goal for a loss. (remember last season. 1 win down the stretch) Instead, Vitor brings the kind of professionalism this club needed and it's an easy 3-0 win. He demands players earn their time on the pitch thru hard practice. So once they get on the pitch during a game they give it all they got. R. Gomes has become my favorite player. He sees two or three passes ahead and he gets himself in a position to be a goal scorer. His desire and love of the game is outstanding. Just watch his run on his goal, incredible.

Does Cunha play differently when he scores our first goal? Becomes more of a team player and looks for assists? or is it just me?
