with his first touch he knew he was through and hoped to score.I'd have to watch it again but I thought initially from watching MotD he looked up to see where Jimenez was and straight after took a heavy touch that basically knocked it onto his right side, I don't think he intended it to go that way

I think his effort lacked conviction when running through. He has the ability to drive the ball with his right foot towards the back post IMO but what happened was a pretty weak effort. Confidence maybe is the wrong word in terms of Saturday but it was nice to see him grow towards the end of the game.
I'm going to watch the game back this afternoon anyway because I'm sad and have the time. My reflections without having watched were that Costa didn't do nearly as bad as people made out anyway, but I do think he was hesitant and often took the 'easy' option.
Where are you finding the entire match to watch back, mate?
I’ll pm you the link mate (I doubt it’s okay to post on here?)
Apologies if someone's already posted this and I've missed it!
All this 'last time we won three games in the top division' malarkey - in the season concerned (79 / 80) we won three consecutive games three times! In the September, Everton away 3-2; United at home 3-1 and Arsenal away 3-2. Then in February we beat United away 1-0; Norwich at home 4-0 and Liverpool at home 1-0. Finally in March we beat Villa away 3-1; Stoke at home 3-0 and Coventry away 3-0. For those too young to remember we finished 6th and won the League cup. All hail John Espirito Barnwell
Tell him to look at the fucking league table.
Sounds like a nob.
