Wolves 2-4 Leeds: Verdict Thread

Finally round to watching the highlights.

It's a pen on Semedo for me, I think the ref has got done by the direction of travel on the ball.

Appalling defending on all their goals. Semedo done too easily more than once on the opener, dismal marking on the second and Passive Max wearing his lead boots - fucking jump, you big lug - Jonny doing a Doherty 2016 vs Leeds impression, three chances to do something and does nothing. Adama - you can't just stop, whether it is or isn't a foul.

Sa saved literally nothing yesterday. Third is right through his legs as well.

Neto, Semedo and Raul have to score their chances.

You can't control outside factors, we aren't helping ourselves along the way.

Seems to me that foul is being used, not so much on here, to shield the wider issues of the performance. Unless we go down on gd of 1, or 2 to Leeds it made no difference. It was the last couple of seconds and we'd already burnt out. It's the Molineux dead cat.
‘The Molineux dead cat’ is probably the most amusing thing I’ve read from you. Really tickled me.

Agree with the full post to be fair. As I’ve said, we have been the architects of our own downfall. Decision doesn’t go our way, got goals 2 and 3 are not because of that. Wiffy defending

They don’t excuse the performance, and Julen has (rightly) been picked up on his odd starting selections and substitutions - and a few of the players have been dug out. BUT, we get the penalty v Newcastle and Pope gets sent off (they’ve since admitted this is what should have happened), it’s a completely different game.

Likewise yesterday, we get that penalty and score, the game is back to 1-1 with ages left and we’re not coming back from a three goal deficit.

There’s absolutely no way we end the last two games on 0 points had the correct decisions been made. Therefore, no one can argue against the fact the officials incompetence has directly affected the results.

We need these key decisions to start being called correctly and the players/manager to improve, or we genuinely could go down.
I don’t disagree, but pope gets sent off we have a penalty we could easily miss it also. But i get your point

Same as a lot of our penalty/offside calls etc.

You can look objectively and find reasons why they're 'soft', but when you see them given constantly in other games (sometimes on the same day!) it's bizarre
If it’s ‘soft’ it’s still a foul IMo.

A towering leap from England's Max Kilman there.

It's awful all round.

Sa spent ages afterwards appealing for nothing as well. Shite attempt at a save too.

How the hell have we managed to accrue 6 red cards already this season? We are a bit of a whingey team, but I wouldn't have said we were a particularly dirty or cynical team compared to others.
Please don't anyone say its cos everyone hates us!
I think it's because we are too slow in the tackle. The opposition get the ball and we get the opposition, plus Lemina and Nunes possibly had too much to say.

I'd say Semedo is the only one that cost us in the game. Lemina's suspension against Bournemouth may have done I suppose. I don't think Jonny's did yesterday

So is RAN fit or not? Someone suggested it was tactical to leave him out of the squad yesterday. I can't believe that would happen and him not make the bench.

I thought Lop said it was tactical in his press conference?

That's what the manager said. Don't think it's too big a stretch to say it's punishment for the lack of effort to get back for Newcastle's winner

If so then it's awkward because we'll need him for the next three games. Having the manager leave him out of the squad for whatever reason is hardly going to go across well.

He wasn't getting back there, he was miles upfield. Our shit formation (that we didn't need to switch to) caused that, along with Kilman chasing after the ball like a dog after a balloon then Collins not understanding what offside is, not RAN.

If so then it's awkward because we'll need him for the next three games. Having the manager leave him out of the squad for a defensive error is hardly going to make him try harder. Especially when Kilman continually keeps his place amongst others.
Podence was out of the squad two games ago then started two in a row. It doesn't matter.

I thought Podence was injured.
