Wolves 2-3 West Brom: Verdict Thread

That’s a brilliant post and completely fails to read the mood of the thread Alan. So you object to the negativity but don’t know why you object.

baaaa baaaaa that’s very sheep like . You are welcome to point out that you think I am a cunt but please have the cahones to point out why 😂😂
It’s not Alan’s fault we lost.

Im in shock and I've been talking about losing today for the last couple of weeks. Despite a couple of posters telling me it wouldn't happen id had this nagging feeling.

Whats happened today is worse.

I expected them to shithouse a 1-0 win with a Big Sam defensive masterclass. When we gifted them the first penalty I thought that was materialising.

That we took the lead and s t i l l construed to fuck that up against a team that offered nothing in an attacking sense and were shaky the few times we did ask questions is beyond my worst negative prediction.

Silva did well, put himself about in the first half and pleased for his goal. His absolute limit for me is 55 minutes. After the early chance at the start of the second half he faded badly. Less said about the dive the better but VAR encourages diving/dishonesty imo.

Neves worst game in a Wolves shirt, constantly seemed to play himself into trouble or fall over. I have no idea what was wrong with him. Rightfully hooked.

Boly was good, did well in nearly everything he did.

Traore did a few bits, predominantly first half although him overplsying outside our box was in the buikd up to P1, but his particular second half performance was one of the worst of the lot. In the latter stages of the second half he was behind the ball near the halfway line(!) and passed to them/out of play on at least two occasions.

Im so very concerned for Nuno, professionally and personally. This feels like the end of days scratching around for ideas and throwing people on, but looking at him he looks tired with a capital T. He needs to disconnect and see his family.

I still don't think we'll be in the relegation scrap but there are serious problems here which need addressing.

If this punch removes some of the arrogance around the club at the moment then this is a punch worth taking. Thank fuck it’s the 16th of Jan it’s happened and not Feb 1st

It's suicidal to change our way of playing when it doesn't suit the players we have, or even the players we bought four months ago.

Seems like we've over-thought and tried to be clever and pre-empt teams sussing us out after two seasons and in the process thrown a lot of that good work away, and now we're trying to make it up as we go along.

Does a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 suit the players we have any more than 4 as the back? Probably worth doing to steady the ship but I'm not convinced

Big picture is : We are now in relegation fight, the shadows of league 1 and 2 are starting to show, those were dark times, and right now we would struggle in the Championship league. So it’s the start of the slide down the table and leagues or find a way to hold on

I don’t see us signing anyone still tbf (not saying that’s the right thing mind - a top signing could really galvanise us)

I agree with that, if Nuno wants someone he should get him.

If we relegate it will be years if ever that we come back up, the money will leave and we will be like Bolton

Yeah this is the thing.

it’s what I expect us to do. And maybe it will get us some short term results. But the way we are playing, and reacting to things, is nothing to do with the formation

I'm taking solace in that West ham were proper shit last season and improved significantly this season

Steady on, it's only a game, bigger picture and all that.
I definitely agree with you, but it is hard to look at the big picture immediately after a really poor loss to your rivals. I'm happy to accept a middling position this season, but you need some good results along the way to help people buy in and feel like progress is being made. This was a good opportunity for it.

I want this season to be over already.

Anyone else take the Sky Amaji header offer?

Gutted.
Yep. As well as a WBA just in case. Lost the Neto/Neves shot on target one though.

It is and it isn't. We're so reactive now to any kind of ball in from wide and it has to be down to the change from three centre halves to two, as we know individually they're all ok or better at attacking the ball.

That second goal is so bad on so many levels. Although thanks to Mr Oliver for not giving us a stonewall free kick 70 yards up the pitch seconds earlier.
