I'm not convinced it protects our financial interests though - if he's not worth £30m now, then paying him £5m per year, to be a fringe player with little end product isn't going to add much value. And the older he gets, the more likely it is that people realise that his "potential" is perpetual, and never going to be realised

It's quite an odd case for Messi. The easiest explanation would be that he has played the same way with the same players for so long, he is struggling to adapt to doing something different. Well, that's my opinion on it anyway.

A lot depends on the formation after January. If it were a conventional 442 with pure wingers then I think he'd be in the first 11. Anything else then he's an impact sub without injuries.

Bruno has surprised us with how many changes he has made to everything but the CBs (dropping Raul, dropping Neves, starting Podence, dropping Podence etc) , to assume that's it, Traore is on the bench from now on seems a strong conclusion on the basis of just one game where Adama didn't feature, when he has in every other game.

Trincao is very inconsistent, it wouldn't surprise me at all for him to be poor against Palace, and then Traore is back in the frame for the West Ham game, or for Bruno to just bring Traore in against Palace, baffling all of us, like when he dropped Neves against Leeds.

You won't agree so I'm wasting my time, but during those other formations, we've looked better as an overall team when he's on the bench and he's fluffed his lines in his highlight moments

This is an odd one, Traore is rolled over the coals for his missed chances (chances he entirely created himself, through his own skill, speed and strength) yet on the basis of one good performance Trincao is nailed on first teamer forever and his misses against Newcastle, United and Everton are forgotten. (all of which were far easier chances!)

The agenda against Adama is bizarre.
