Wolves 2-0 Aston Villa: Verdict Thread

Doc Agbo Toti might be something to build on when/if we don't sign another CB.
Thought all 3 of them were great today. Don’t get me wrong, we shouldn’t have doc as a guaranteed starter in 2025, however is been competent in a back 3. More than happy with this version of him as a squad player. Agbo was class. Still not Toti biggest fan due to his limitations, but can mask his weaknesses with his pace etc. we looked more solid with him playing today, not sure if that’s a brag or a sad state of affairs, but il take it

Only watched the first half-half so won't go deep on the analysis. But, did not expect a performance from a nothing player like Bellegarde at all. Tactics worked as far as I saw.

Favours from Everton and especially Southampton have made for a really good day. For all his faults Pereira has more points already than O'Neil did. A rare nice weekend!

Best team won. I would have been happy with a point. But we looked on it tonight. Defence pressed well, wing backs got forward loads. Even Doherty played well. The whole team pulled together and fought for every ball. We looked like we wanted it more and the result reflected that. Probably got away with one for their goal too but fuck em, we've had enough decision go against us so they can eat that one and enjoy it.

With Liverpool away coming up, we really, really needed the three points today.

Shouldn’t fear Bournemouth & Fulham if we can get a couple of players over the line to bolster the squad.
Today is a god send, Bournemouth away is about as tough as it gets bar Liverpool away from home currently.
Fulham are no mugs either, just a big psychological blow for the others today.

Villa’s record at Molineux since 2016:
L 0-1
L 0-2
L 1-2
W 1-0
L 2-1
L1-0
D1-1
L0-2

Not great for a side that arrogantly sees us as way beneath them.
Even that win was undeserved. Silva hit the inside of the post. Podence was fouled by mings but the referee gave it the other way and the penalty came from the free kick.
