Wolves 0-3 Nottingham Forest: Verdict Thread

I mean it's not the end of the world or anything, but I pressed send on my post as i was having a discussion with someone, and I get an error message. Seems a bit pointless but whatever. Conversation had probably run it coarse anyway.

There you go Jeff must have been like bumping into an ex tonight you binned off a few years ago because you thought you could do better but now you realise that they’re better off without you.
The squad is full of either players recruited that aren’t good enough or project players who need time we’ve not got and will have varied levels of consistency.
We’ve got lots of holes to fill in the squad and probably won’t be able to do it one window.

Larsen can't miss those chances. Doherty's defending was inexplicable for the second goal. Bueno got bullied all night.

That not is receive, focus and shot, are 1 touch actions. I think he made it good, but sometimes the defense and gk are playing too.

Rodrigo, made a increible shot, but the gk stopped it too.

We played pretty well first half all things considered, Forest would have counted themselves lucky to be 1 up at the break never mind 2 up. No idea what Doc was doing for the second, defend the situation man!

2nd goal totally killed us off and we never got going second half. We will probably be OK this season you would think but boy oh boy there is some dross in this squad of ours isn't there.....

After seeing that starting XI, I expected nowt and got nowt. However, the first half was better than I expected, putting aside two sucker punch goals from them, the second of which was down to shockingly lazy play from Doc, pleading for offside on the halfway line when he should have just clattered their player! JSL should have scored two goals, first half. Both chances put on a plate for him. Disappointing. Second half really was a tale of subs galore but not one making any difference. If ever there was a night for the fans to give it to Shi, it was tonight, given what VP was left to work with. Yet the Molineux crowd was strangely muted. Can't work that out.

Timing of the goals really done us. Given the team, i hoped we'd just sit in and try and frustrate a bit early on, but midfield was far to high on the first, one pass took both Doyle and Gomes out and MGW had too much space.

First half i thought we actually played ok and JSL should have scored, R. Gomes was a bit unlucky with his effort, but the second goal just killed us off and i thought in the 2nd half Forest just played with us a bit really, we had plenty of the ball in areas they were happy for us to have it.

We got proper Nuno'd tonight
I quite like the early signs of Vitor Periera.
But it was a sobering reminder tonight (if anybody needed it) of what Fosun threw away in 2021

Let's start with the positives:

1) A welcome reality check for the owners. No we won't be alright by default. We have too much crap that gets on the pitch regularly. Sign some players, one CH from Ligue Un does not cover everything

2) We did actually play quite well for a fair chunk of it. It's never a 3-0 game. But we've seen this film before. It's Nuno, it's what he does, it's what we revelled in. And we threw it away. Thanks Jeff.

Sa: Conceded three, never had a prayer with any of them, had literally nothing else to do.

Doherty: This is why you can't pick him. He couldn't turn 10 years ago. He couldn't defend 10 years ago. He can't now. Pathetic on the second goal.

Bueno: This guy is fucking SHIT. I'm 44 soon and I'm quicker than him. Stronger too. Pathetic on the first goal.

Ait-Nouri: Did alright in an unfamiliar role, wouldn't repeat the experiment though.

Lima: Hung out to dry at times by the feckless shitbeak playing to his left. Looked good on the ball. Wouldn't have hooked him.

R Gomes: Bright again, definitely has some quality about him, could still do with a decent steak meal or two.

J Gomes: Scrapped hard, on his own at times.

Doyle: Can't play in a two, another who's alarming slow and weak for Premier League football. Yes he has a nice touch and can pass a ball, but so could Simon Osborn.

Guedes: You either get 7/10 out of him or 1/10. Guess which one it was today.

Hwang: Standard Hwang if he doesn't score - he looks like he doesn't belong.

Strand Larsen: Tried hard but HAS to score at least one of the first half chances. Then it's a different game.

Subs: I don't like any of them (including the version of Lemina we've had for about 9 months now) so I won't even try to say something nice.

Tough run coming up, I have faith in the manager, but there's a lot to do.

Agree with virtually all of this - especially the bit about having too much crap on the pitch.

No idea what Hobbs saw in Forbs and JRB - they look utter shite to me. Neither can influence a game and I thought they were both meant to be quick? Not seen that at all.

Can’t keep repeating myself about Doyle in a two but he is utterly out of his depth there in this team. Might have been ok at City - coming on at 3-0 up with Rodri purring next to you but different story when you look over your shoulder and see Matt Doherty there.

Sarabia, Guedes and Lemina can all go tomorrow please. £5m for Hwang and he can join them.

Positives were that Lima looked great, Little Gomes has a bit of something and Joao Gomes looks like he’s finding his form again.

Add three or four quality players to this squad and we’re laughing. But we’re in a whole load of shit still, don’t worry about that.

Tonight showed how much crap we’ve got outside our best starting eleven.

Went gung-ho from the off and got punished on the break - it's what Forest do.
Doherty done for the second, although Hudson O may have been offside until if Santi hadn't played him on.
Never layed a glove on them second half and the subs were worse than what they replaced - if that was possible.
Need a CH, Left back, GK, as a minimum.
Plus points, Lima and R.Gomes.

Forest are a very, very, very average side, just shows what can be achieved with a decent Coach, hopefully the arseoles in charge of our Club haven’t left it too late for Vitor to achieve similar,

How the hell did Forest come out 3 0 winners, absolutely gifted them the win, had enough chances to win it and conceded some woeful goals, strange game.

They came out 3-0 winners because we were poor defensively and missed 2 or 3 sitters.
We played some nice attacking football in the first half but Forest mostly looked in control.

Don't think I've ever seen a football stadium so empty at full time btw. There were people booing at full time in the South Bank as well. 3 games unbeaten and boo the first loss? We really do deserve everything that's coming to us sometimes.
That's disappointing, surely anyone seeing that starting 11 knew it would be difficult.

If we stay up I hope I don't have to watch Doyle, Bellegarde, Doherty, Forbs, Hwang and Guedes next season - all mid-table Championship at best. Lemina and Sa aren't much better.
No defeat is a good one, especially where we are in the league...but tonight should have dispelled any myths that this squad doesn't need help, particularly at the back. Sarabia and Lemina are here in name only, the former has been for 6 months

A decent performance considering the team he was more or less forced to put out. Fair play to VP. So much dross/mediocrity that needs to be rid of but won`t be. Management need to brave and cut our losses on a lot of these players Hope we sign more than just a CB, we could do with a leader on the pitch but fuck knows where we get one of those.

That must be up there with the worst Premier League XI's we've picked, certainly in the Fosun era.

I was pleasantly surprised by the performance. I expected to lose 3-0 but without laying a glove on them.

But positives from Lima and Gomes, and we didn't play that badly.
I thought Bueno was excellent. Wasn't at fault for any of the goals. I don't think they had a big chance they didn't score.

Agbadou is a Captain isn't he, whether Vitor will give it to him straight off I don't know.
