Wolves 0 - 2 Huddersfield: The Verdict.

One plus point today was that Vinagre did very decently. Happy to give credit for that.

Really disagree. He did OK. Majority of the chances or openings we were created were through him. He was very quiet for periods and then when he sprang to life, we looked a much more dynamic team.

Views like that on a player like Traore and also people's panicking at today's performance are a really good example of how people go to the extremes so quickly (IMO). When we were in good form people are discussing us challenging the existing order at the top of the league etc and when we are in bad form it's panic stations. We are a mid table team who will be inconsistent throughout the season. I've always thought we will finish between 8th-12th and nothing has really changed that.

Nuno will be really pissed off with that result and majority of the performance. It's a good opportunity to make some changes (I disagree about the lack of depth - only at wing back) but not for us to abandon plans, how we play or write off individuals.

MGW was very bright when he came on - though I think I would have been tempted to have changed the shape of the midfield as we were struggling to get control of the game. Traore was the right sub and I think putting him up front too was the right move - his movement in behind is much better in that role at the moment. It's an issue long term as he has to become better in his proper position at that but playing up front may actually help in the long run I think.

Think Boly and Doc had their worst games for quite a while which is a shame. Vinagre will have some tough times with his run in the team but he's going to benefit massively from the minutes and experience. I didn't think Ruben had as bad a game as people said but he certainly wasn't at his best. Definitely need more from helder in terms of output. He's a player I really love but he needs a goal badly (or an assist).
Agree with all that.

Yes thought he played well, his pace tackling back is a real asset. The half assed RWB could learn a lot there.

Yep those calling for denial of wages or nunos head seriously? Think some have been a bit spoilt over the last 15 months.
Players will be hurting tonight after that, they know it was way below the expectations.
Things do need be freshened up tho, MGW to start and Dendocker for Boly. We’re short in RWB so Doherty will have to start.

Traore should not be through the middle v Huddersfield. It might work on the break but when you're chasing he needs to be a bit of an impact creator and today because. Spends too much time on his arse for me. Built like a tank but gets knocked over like Lego. Come on, toughen up!

Raul needs to be schooled on how to finish. His 1 on 1 was awful today. Amateurish. Patricio needs to look over his shoulder. He is getting beaten from distance too often. Boly needs to wake the fuck up! Doherty needs to stop reading articles about himself and start and o listen to his coach. Neves needs to worry about Wolves , not Juventus. He is a shadow of Neves last year. Costa is lightweight. Come on. You're an international. Cav had a stinker but in truth he hasn't had many. He just timed it badly

Lsm is pissing himself unfortunately. Still,he who laughs last laughs longest and there are 25 games to go.

Pissed off doesn't begin to cover it.

Both views are correct on Traore. He was the same as ever, I still don’t get why he polarises so much.

He looks like a sprinter In a charity game 80% of the time, looks like he might do something 15% of the time and then actually does something 5% of the time.

Now that’s not great and could do with more. Unfortunately, Cav and Costa were horrendous and offered nothing 100% of the time but meanwhile didn’t look like they’d never played professional football before.

the problem lies in 11 players who have become complacent in being certain they will start the next game.

We have options for the Cardiff game as Warnock will have watched today's game and will use a formation similar to Huddersfield along with an injection of physicality

We should give Leo, MGW, Traore, Vinagre, Dendoncker Jota and Ruddy a start against Cardiff- couldn't be much worse than today

Make six changes? Are you serious?!

Might have had legs if Leo want one of them!

I think a slight formation change would be better. Our IFs are rubbish, so let's only play one and drop MGW in as 10ish to help in CM.

Ultimately it's not down to not caring etc - we have 2 fairly slow and lightweight CMs and they are getting overun at times. In the more combative games we should probably look at dendonker in there ahead of Neves or Moutinho.

We are not dropping Patricio for Ruddy for crying out loud. That's bonkers.

Traore still created our best chance and fashioned another couple. If we are going to point fingers they need to be pointed at those who literally contribute nothing in an attacking sense.

Perfectly true.

This is it really. You can drop one of them without losing our style/identity. Cav and Costa were less useful than traffic cones, and having an additional player in there might actually get more out of our (on paper) best players.

Against teams who are prepared to change their formation we've been found out.

Bigger sides we can play against but I'd say every team below the top 6 will have 4 central ish midfielders and nullify us. Nuno needs to find a way to counter act that.

His name is Dendonker. And it's 3 5 2
