Winter Improvement Thread (aka Winter Squad Weakening Thread and TWF Suicide Watch)

No way, Cyber! I was hoping for about 16/1... Surely there must be a signing soon - unless Zac Clough turns us down for Bristol City, which could see another 30 pages. No, no, I have complete confidence in Jackett and Thelwell and a coherent and ambitious recruitment strategy (nurse increases medication...)

Take enough. Enjoy the opiate

My issue with the hibs lad, is I thought that Stevie May and Billy McKay have all looked good and neither have come close to cutting it in this league. My other side (Greenock Morton) are in that league and the standard looks about the same as I still play in Saturday's! (Tier 15...)

There seems to be a few rumours ( yes I know it is Twitter...) that we are set to sign Clough.

Murray would be a good signing, even if he was on loan with a view to making it permanent in the summer.

I just don't see any way how they sign him for £4m then punt him out on loan four months later.

Tim II still saying no move for Clough by us. Brizzle the only club to speak with him.

I don't see why they'd spend £7m on Lewis Grabban but they did.

If they were guaranteed at least half that back from us in the summer I think they'd be ok with it.

Boom, signing made

Wolves are set to sign winger Will Randall, 18, from Swindon. Will go straight into the under-21 squad. Made nine appearances for the Robins

According to a Bolton Journo, we haven't enquired.

Folk take bits of information that may or may not have merit, add it to other bits of unsubstantiated information then mix in some speculation and then get upset if it doesn't happen or someone disagrees with them.

There are numerous stories linking us to Clough but they all probably emanate from the same source - it no longer matters whether the original story had any merit, within 48 hours Wolves are on the brink of abject failure in the transfer market with wannabe pundits dissecting whether it was wages, lack of ambition or Dave Edwards as the reason the new Messi signed for little Brizzie and not the mighty Wanderers.

It proves that the internet is a great enabler, it enables usually sane folk to talk bollocks, and even though they know it is bollocks they still believe it

mentioned in the interview that there was more than 1 club in for Afobe - any reports on who the other club were ?

Reportedly it was Newcastle, who are stating their surprise at the speed it all went through.
