What I Want from December

How many of our players would be bought by other championship clubs? Stearman, who is our most experienced CB, made Fulham worse.

We need a huge overhaul of our squad - I wouldn't be opposed to us signing some championship level / type players because right now, that is a step up.

Priority for me is strengthening the spine. So, new GK, at least an 1 organising CB, someone to play with Saiss in midfield, and I think Bod / Dicko should be fine too, sign Costa on a permanent deal. A couple of championship full backs too. That should at least make us competatIve again.

I wouldn't be opposed to Baath, Edwards, Mason, Iorfa and Hause as squad players but I think that's about it.

So what your saying is pretty much what has been said for two or more seasons that we need a new GK a new centre back and 1 if not two full backs, a playmaking midfield player and if we are really pushing the boat out, a goal scorer!

We have the playmaking midfielders. We just need a manager and set of coaches who fucking pick them. We definitely do need two centre backs. We could certainly do with a striker. Possibly a wing back or two to absolutely ensure that Doherty never ever plays for us again.

It's all irrelevant though as the coaches and thelwell have the ear so we get to watch shitehawks relegate us with better players stuck on the bench.

I want Jackett...oops Lambert to lock himself in a room away from any backroom staff and watch all the match dvd's from the last 18 months.
Then if he still picks a starting 11 like saturdays then i want him to $#@! off.

Is Lambert taking too much advice from existing coaching staff as per team selection ?
he's only been here 2-3 weeks ,had 2 matches to watch the players perform, must have watch numerous replays of previous matches, and can see how
players perform in training.
I, like many on here ,was sort of happy with Lambert ,but only being the best of a bad bunch, but he is here ,i think we need to give him to at least middle Jan
so he can have time to put his own stamp on the team.
the team selection last sat was simply unexplainable , no logic in some of the selections ,disappointing !
the result/performance $@*@ up my birthday celebrations .
If it carries on like this ,then he has to be gone before the Jan window closes !
Being a new poster and not a local , can someone tell me why, twice now , we didnt go for Steve Bruce ?

because first time Moxey was trying to appease a vast number of neanderthal morons who didn't like Bruce because he'd been at the Blues.
mob rule, and from there history.
i don't care who wants to shoot me down, but he was and still would be the best man for the job !

Opposition to Bruce back in 2012 was principally because his Sunderland team (before he got sacked) looked worse than us.

my opinion of him was what he has achieved at championship level, which is probably second to none.
once promoted, we could have looked to upgrade.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and Bruce would have probably done very well for us, but not in the system we have now as this is a Head Coach job and Bruce likes control of transfers. Bruce is certainly a good quality Championship manager but he is a fairly poor Premier League manager and when we were going to appoint Lopetugui in the summer we were looking for a potential PL manger that would walk this division rather than getting a Champ manager to get us out and then replace him when we got to the PL.

This revisionist stuff isn't helping and now we have a DoF, head coach and backroom staff that are about Lg1 standard at best.

What I want in December is for Wolves to play their best players and go out and attack teams. We have beaten three of the current top four in the division, so we do have the ability within the squad, so let's start showing it.

We all want that Frank, unfortunately this hasn't happened this season bar one half at Villa.

If we wanted to just accept relegation by mid-February and have someone in charge who was capable of getting us straight back up then we'd have been as well just keeping Mick. As it was, the supposed brief was for whoever came in to make a fist of saving us from the drop. Bruce wasn't doing that, any more than Mick would have.

This is very old ground.

And the run Wigan went on, coupled with the games we had left meant we wouldn't have stayed up whoever came in

Bruce wasn't even available when we sacked Zenga.

But he was when we appointed Zenga! Zenga's appointment was on a par with that of Connor. Both were doomed to failure before the ink had dried on the contract. The problem was each time the inevitable has happened we have knee jerked into a completely different direction.

Revisionist stuff.

At the time, Fosun were only ever going to appoint somebody recommended by Mendes though. Lopetegui had fallen through and they clearly turned to Mendes to get a replacement in quickly.

I wouldn't care if he was the last manager on earth, I still wouldn't ever want Bruce here.

Why this obsession with a fucking British manager. He is absolutely shite.

Because they know the championship and how to get out of it,unlike the managers at Watford,Middlesbrough they didn't know the championship at all. It's not the managers,it's the god awful mostly talentless squad we've got stuck with

He's been promoted from this league 4 times and has instantly turned Villa around. I can see why you wouldn't want him, I can see how he wouldn't fit into our system. To call him 'absolutely shite' within the context of being a Championship manager is quite frankly bollocks though.
