West Ham 0 v 1 Wolves: The Verdict Thread

The bias BBC has toward 'white' applicants is correct (and is not called racist) but someone takes issue with it, and they're labelled racist. Such double standards !! I'm not saying Glasgow is right in citing Crooks as he's been there since Adam !!

I am surprised Crooks is still there, as there are far more qualified candidates. It’s good to see more BAME presenters and writers featuring these days who can talk sense, our own Matty Murray for example is much smoother than he was originally, aluko has done well, I think Don Goodman is excellent, and Wright has improved now he’s calmed down a bit - I do think Crooks was originally employed to bring some BAME representation, as he was one of the first black footballers to enter the media - it’s certainly not due to his journalistic skillz...

Annoys me when people make stupid claims about race and start a debate which should not be about that: Is Garth Crooks an idiot who chooses a team of players that scored that week and a goalkeeper with a clean sheet - penalty save also applicable - every time? Yes! Is Garth Crooks only in his job still because of his race? No. The BBC employ plenty of morons of all races that are still for some reason employed producing constant drivel.

Please remember that most of us Garth Crooks haters are perfectly normal and reasonable people. Don't tar us all with the same brush as most of us blend completely into normal society.

I like Murray on SSN. He was a bit dull when he started but has got better and I enjoy listening to him now. Thought Aluko was terrible but didn't mind Alex Scott. I like Don Goodman except for his intense love for Dave Edwards which used to come through whenever he commentated on one of our games. Ian Wright is average, has improved slowly over the years as I used to think his analysis was extremely basic and has a tendency to ramble. Another not mentioned I like is Jermaine Jenas, he gets some flak for being biased towards Spurs but he can normally back his point of view up and can be pretty insightful.

For the record, the BBC has a target of 15% BAME employees by 2020, and is around 13% at the moment. This is almost exactly the ratio in society at large.

Told ya, his salary is £5 per week that's why they employ him to do it. Only viable reason!

Interesting how OT posts are deleted sharpish, but racist twaddle stays.

Back to football...

I'd be absolutely livid if we'd conceded that goal. For one thing, it's your freekick in your half in the 93rd minute and you're drawing 0-0 at home. Just bang it forward. You never know what will drop your way. At worst you aren't going to concede before the whistle goes.

Then:

Look how much room Sanchez has when he receives it. How exactly does he get caught in possession? I suppose the lesson is not to sign a 32 year old clogger who was appalling in his previous go at English football and who had one of the worst individual World Cups this summer.

Anyway we win it and our goalscorer isn't in the picture.

He is now though. How has he got AHEAD of Cresswell in that time? He's quick but he's not Usain Bolt on fast forward. And why is no-one closing Leo down properly? One of you do something.

The more I watch it, the more I think it's slightly iffy from Fabianski. Should he be getting beaten at his near stick from that position, really?

Still, not our problem.

Sanchez had so much time to do something that he could had sat down & read the paper before he played it - they really shouldn't be getting caught out in that position. Not going to complain though, didn't feel that they were up to compete at any time

They were probably terrified of giving the ball away and having Traore racing down at them ;)

Fabianski is another righty. Sticks his foot out if it goes left! Schmiecal does the opposite.Pope is another righty. Fucking love this! You'll all scream " bollocks cyber" but just check out Schmiecal this weekend and you tube Pope!

This, get some people up the pitch and drop it in the box. first ball, second ball whatever, ludricous to play short even then though OMFG what the actual Fuck

I've you tubed Pope, all I got was a man in a white dress driving round Ireland in a big car talking to crowds of people, couldn't tell if he was right or left, fairly certain he's catholic though

Is it just me or does Patricio use his left foot for goalkicks?...odd behaviour for such a righty

Said at the weekend he will be annoyed he let that one in. Put Patricio in his place and he will be a little bit further forward...love how Rui cuts out angles for players, so quick off his line and knows where to go. If a player then scores he has earned the goal

Assume that he has been told to play it that way - 90% of his kicks went out to Doherty against Man City

Same tactic we used last season. All Ruddy's kicks were aimed at the WB's. Does end up with a lot a throw ins after a goalkick though
