Welcome to Wolves Marshall Munetsi

He's had some poor misses so far, but on the flip side he's gotten I to positions to score no-one else in the awuad would have.

I think he's one of those players where you have to wait and see what his strike rate is long term. If he can manage 1 in 4 then that's ok, but if it's 1 in 8 then that's not going to be good enough to justify his inclusion.

The miss on Saturday was down to him not getting his feet and balance right. He was essentially leaning into the shot because his left foot was too far behind him and he needed to put his weight back down onto his right foot soon.

His record for Reims is about 1 in 7 so unlikely to improve that much, unless playing with 'better' players helps, he's had 4 or 5 really good chances in his games so far.

Come on, bud, after 3 weeks? He hasn’t been nearly that bad.

Sometimes you can see it, sometimes you can't. Unless he's for got his shoes on the wrong feet or he's pissed then there's no defending the way the bloke takes and passes the football. I'm not so snobbish as to think that technique is everything but the mental and physical side of the game will only get you so far.

I'm not even saying I dislike him; I'd start him out of our current options against certain opposition, he'll bring qualities to us with his work off the ball and his determination, attacking intensity etc. I generally prefer pure footballers but if you ask me if I want Doyle or Marshall in the side as a 4, 6, 8,10 fucking whatever, he's getting picked 100 times out of 100.

But my point is, three weeks or not, we all know what kind of player he is. It's not too early to make that call. His impact, fair enough, is a mystery, and he does have the potential to make a positive impact in a few aspects of play.

And @Alan when I say "absolutely shit", I obviously mean in the context of senior first team PL midfielders

I’m down with all of this.

I know, I'm just being a snowflake ❄️ 💛

It's going to be all about the goals he scores or doesn't. If he starts slotting some away then he'll be worth it, if he continues to miss he doesn't really have the all round game to make up for it. Other than 'nuisance' value, which isn't really that valuable at PL level

Being a nuisance is much underrated imo😀

This is one of the things that frustrates me about the forum.
We seem so quick to rubbish new players on here, fabio being the exception, as i'm a better player than him, now, and i'm 73.
Bellegarde got massacred, and now he's turned into a great asset. Aggs too, he caught some crap in his first few introductory excursions, and having found his feet is our no1 ch.
Santi has gottrn some serious abuse, including the pre match comments on saturday, but despite being booked in the first minute had a good game and all of his tackling after the 1st minute was sharp and precise.
For sure jiggy is gonna get a ton of flak, it started saturday after a 10 minute intro to the prem.
We all know, the prem is miles above other european leagues, not least being phenominally quicker, and good as a player may be, it must be a true baptism of fire for any player.
We have to shop in what is europe's bargain basement, ta jeff, but come on guys, lets give a) the player, some reasonable time to get up to speed,
And b) Vic to suss out what he's got on his hands and work out where he best fits his preferred system.
Marshall has been dropped in to basically make up the numbers thus far, and the guy deserves a break.
I think, we are better on this forum than that, and i for one, am feeling positive about my team again, which goes to prove Gon didn't destroy my faith after all.
Thanks Vic.

Can't believe I'm going to say this, but I agree with much of this post. 🤯😮 It doesn't even read like pavlos has been hitting the ouzo today. 😘😜

A) its cypro
B) i have a 6k walk down to my favourite taverna, with a pretty big up hill section at the end on arriving back home, and for a man of 73, carrying groceries is a task, carrying the amounts of cypro from bygone days along with them, has a more severe effect than desired.
But frankly i don't drink so much anymore, and frankly don't really have the urge anymore either.
I may be irish, but old fucking old age gets us all in the end, however, i thank you seriously, for the kind honesty in your post. 😘

I like him.

But I like chaotic madness on a football pitch
I fucking knew it, you've been hiding your secret from me for 20 years

I'm not sure we're even seeing him played in his preferred position, even if he was brought in to be a more attacking mid. Shows how bad our options are behind JSL (spoiler: there are none).

I know it's agricultural but I thought keeping Munetsi on and bringing Larsen on, we were going to start lobbing a few balls in the box. Not a great tactic but from my memory we had one skewed shot from Cunha and RANs blocked shot at the end in the whole of the second half. Can't think why it was Bellegarde rather than Munatsi who came off.

He's not great. Poor touch, quite safe with his passing - he actually doesn't win many headers or tackles - and we've all seen what he is in the box.

We're playing him out of position so it's harsh to expect too much, but I've no idea how he's lasted the full 90 last night. He offers us some running and a bit of physicality, but I'd like to have thought Vitor may have recognised around the hour mark last night (or earlier?) that it wasn't working and we needed something different.

Impact sub at best for me.

I think the slight spanner in the works is it seems JSL is way off the pace too. In an ideal world, we want Cunha & Bellegarde playing off JSL. Andre & Gomes behind them. Guedes, Channy, Sarabia etc - are only really good enough for the bench.
