Welcome to Wolves Marshall Munetsi

TWF repeats the same criticisms of players on an infinite loop (we've just started the Munetsi one), even when they leave, so it's only fair Nasser gets his share?
Let’s give Guedes some shit as well eh? I mean he’s bloody awful, we all know it but hasn’t played for weeks so not really much point but fire away if it makes you happy.

I like that strategy if your choices ahead are ok at the moment. And for once they seem to be so.

Aye, I've no issues with a succession planning strategy. But we all know that Nasser was signed to go straight in, isn't up to it (hopefully that's 'yet') and we got away with it because somehow Matt Doherty has been OK at centre back.

But your point was about how much Munetsi cost? Djiga wasn't a free transfer or a £2m punt
Both points are fair, Munetsi can be over priced at the same time as Djiga being a waste of a transfer.
Tredders makes the very good point about Doc being very good at RCB since January which I doubt anyone could see coming.

I don’t think he was, it’s ok to pivot from ready made option to one for the future if your need to replace becomes less pressing.

Not sure he's 'not up to it', definitely struggled a bit in his first appearance but could have stepped up with a few more starts. We just haven't needed to take the risk.

Munetsi and Djiga were literally signed in our last transfer window.

One has their name in everyone's mouth daily and the other is barely mentioned. Both cost in the £10-20m bracket.

Questioning only one transfer is unfair.

All Traore had to do was side foot a pass to Jimenez and it would have been 1-1 against Arsenal. He blasts it across, nobody gets near it and there you have why he never gets the number of assists or goals that he should for a man of his talent. A few minutes later and Fulham are 2 down.

Both have been questioned but one who plays every game gets most questioned, not sure what's wrong with that.

Djiga hasn't played enough to have a strong opinion either way whether he's a good signing for his fee or not.

The only reason Munetsi is getting questioned is he's playing regularly.

Our Sporting Director literally said he was signed for the short and long term.

Doc knackers his knee in training this week and Djiga has had such little gametime that S Bueno is crowbarred into the back three at Portman Road.

If we hadn't had such a good points return in the past three Cunha-less games (which Munetsi has contributed to), the view of the Djiga transfer would feature much less shrugging from everyone

Can’t question a transfer that we haven’t seen, I guess.

But you can question WHY he hasn't been seen? I'm not gonna jump on criticising the signing based on 5 minutes of him actually playing. Heck, there were people questioning Agbadou based on his first appearance, but it is reasonable to wonder why he hasn't been shown good enough to even be first option off the bench ahead of Santi Bueno.

Safety first I guess, given where we are in the league, Vitor would rather trust a weak as piss experienced defender who's played a fair number of Premier league games rather than a younger less experienced one at this stage.
Sheer pragmatism.

Because Doherty has been playing well enough to keep his place?
This is the nub of it, much as I and other members will struggle to admit it but Doc has been better than OK (couple of instances apart) and is clearly a better option than a more established CB in Santi.
I'm still hopeful Djiga will prove to be at least a good back up CB ( or better) next season.

Oh, absolutely, Doc has been very good at RCB. He was easily our best defender the other night.

That wouldn't explain why Santi is still the first option off the bench though, would it? And based on opinions here, Santi is absolute shit.

This is why. Perfectly explained.

Way too harsh on Munetsi and way too many excuses and Vitor second guessing on Djiga on this thread.

Munetsi cost way too much and is awful and not even a footballer, yet when the same recruitment and management team who spent just £6m less on someone who is barely above Alfie Pond in the pecking order he gets waved through as 'one for the future' (not according to Hobbs) and 'we haven't seen enough of him', 'Doc has been great' and 'Vitor trusts Doc more'.

Why trust Vitor and the club on Djiga but not on Munetsi?

This is why. Perfectly explained.

Not really.

Everyone in the squad is younger than Doc, and as for experience, Djiga has played over 100 first team games. At CB.

If he trusts Doc so much in that position (been playing there since just before Xmas), why even bother spending so much money on a player we didn't need?
