Welcome to Wolves Emmanuel Agbadou

He doesn't need to come in and be Maldini, but it shouldn't be hard to come in and be better than Santi Bueno straight away. There are only 13 games left!
I get it, but I do think this downplays how difficult it can be to transition to a stronger league in a new country. Probably goes without saying, but the quality delta from Serbia to England is massive.

Well boo hoo I’m afraid. Point is the signing we needed was a drop in starter. Agba was that, this guy needs to be the same or it is indeed a bad signing. That was pretty much the case before Sunday but it’s absolutely true now.

I get you never know until they are here, but we shouldn't have been signing anyone we didn't think could hit the ground running. We don't have time for an assimilation period. I can see the logic of Bueno coming on mid game, but not with a week of training to prepare

I know all teams get injuries but we seem to get more than our fair share of hamstrings.
We really need Djiga to be up to standard.
It's not just Agba's quality we'll miss, the whole defence seems more calm since he came in.

If we’ve scouted him and splashed out a lot of money you’d hope he’s better than Bueno who really isn’t very good. If we aren’t prepared to start him it seems a pretty pointless signing.
We've had him at the club for two weeks, I'm not pantwetting yet...

worth remembering we also scouted santi...

Scouted in as much as we wanted a CB, didn't have much money and Man City said "you can have this dude from our group of clubs if you let us have Nunes"
I think this gets forgotten with Santi. We also didn't pay as much as you'd expect for a first time starter, but you get what you pay for.

Meanwhile there's a home grown CB paid for the club that's not even registered...

I don’t necessarily disagree, but I think it was harsh over the weekend that when Santi replaced Emmanuel that there was immediate talk that that meant Nasser is unequivocally worse than Santi. Definitely too soon for that, IMV.

To be fair to Santi, he was a fixture in that Girona side as they finished 10th. Hasn’t convinced here but I don’t see it as an outright disaster from inception. Just hasn’t really worked out the way we would have wanted.

Young, arriving in a new country, new language(?), limited time of training. You can understand why he didn’t come on at the weekend or that he might not be quite ready yet. I’d expect him to be so by the weekend
Agbadou and Munetsi seem to be of an age and character whereby nothing fazes them and were ready to go from the start.
I don’t want to go back through threads whereby Agbadou was getting stick on here for an indifferent start albeit in a position not necessarily suited to him.

I agree about the Blackburn comment and did so at the time. It’s as simple as being disappointed he wasn’t so compelling in the full week of training afterwards that he didn’t get on the pitch. Anyway, we’ll see soon enough if it’s going to work out or not as we need him on the pitch. Behind Santi and Doc into March and, whatever the finer points, it’s a problem.

😂
We just played 45+ minutes against the best team in the country without him and didn't give up a single shot at goal. Don't think there's a need for this dramatic reaction.
Santi is fucking shite. The change in our defence is massively obvious, even more so in the ground as you see him organising his fellow defenders.

Agbadou has been great. I don't think missing him automatically puts us as relegation certainties/favourites. That's a tad melodramatic. Does having him improve our chances? Sure. Just pointing out the fact that we played for a large part of the game on Sunday without him and went largely untroubled defensively. In fact, we were better the 2nd half were we not?
