I suppose theoretically increasing defence spending increases the scope of improving employment and domestic prosperity as they'll make a load of the pointless stuff the military requires within the US. Still utterly depressing though. He's such a paranoid weirdo. In some ways it's like he's emerged from a capsule at some point in the mid 70s and he's just realised that the industrial sector has fallen through the floor and we don't have the resources to fight the Russians, OMG, fix this now! Except you can't fix it you melon.
Our own defence spending is stupidly high but the US really do go to town on it for no reason at all.
