So a customer just walked into my store. Intelligent guy, we have friendly conversations but have never discussed politics. He started to explain that trump actually won the election. Yesterday over 130,000 fraudulent votes were discovered in Georgia, made by people who died in the 1800s. Pennsylvania has to be wrong because trump was ahead by so many votes and is now losing. One by one enough states will flip until trump wins. His source is gateway pundit (right wing conspiracy peddling site) and he unquestioningly believes every word it says.
It is so frustrating. He is an intelligent professional man, who has lost touch with reality in one important aspect of life.

I'm guessing it's a bit like Brexit over here. People's own self identities have become so wedded to it that they can't look objectively, so cling to any opportunity that allows them to still substantiate their view, irrespective of how credible that is.

I came across Gateway Pundit the once, spent ages just reading the comments, it was fascinating how entrenched peoples views are, regardless of how insane the topic.
