Well after a fabulous 2 weeks of R&R at Vanuatu with the good wife, it's been a long break away from the day-to-day dramas at Wolves, so to kick-start my return, in addition to a nice suntan, I'll be looking to prepare a compilation video of the best 20 Wolves goals for the 2000s (seasons 1999/00 to 2008/09) - as selected by members of The Wolves Forum - to be posted on The Wolves Archive.

Wolves played 507 competitive games in the 2000s and The Wolves Archive has 503 of those games, so plenty of choice and 700 odd goals to chose from.

I'll give it a couple of weeks to see what goals are nominated, and like for the 1990s, I'll create a video of all the nominated goals to make it easier to narrow it down to 20.

One of the advantages of starting this thread is that I get first pick, and I've selected the following 5 goals as per below to start proceedings.

George Ndah was one of my favourite players of the early 2000s and how could I not resist nominating his length of the pitch dribble and run against the entire PNE team to score.

Mark Kennedy's early strike in the Play-Off Final was one of the sweetest hits you could ever want, only to be bettered by Alex Rae's outrageous volley against Notlob the following season in the Premiership.

I'll be upfront and say SEB's wonder goal (his 2nd of the game) against Charlton in 2007/08 is one of my all-time favourite Wolves goals, and in the same match Karl Henry scored a fabulous winner as well (SEB's first goal in the same match was also a top goal as well).

With great goals scored by Dean Sturridge, Mark Kennedy, Alex Rae, Henri Camara, Colin Cameron, SEB, Michael Kightly and many others I reckon it'll be harder to narrow it down to 20 than it was for the 1990s.

Enjoy !

Kennedy v Stockport in 2001/02 has to be up there
There's quite a few goals scored in the 2000s where the strike has been so sweet, and yes, it's a cracker.

We had 43 goals nominated for the 1990s, I very much expect we'll have well over 50 for the 2000s.

Ronald Zubar (faints) goal against West Ham away was basically Wolves trying to recreate the Carlos Alberto world cup final goal and coming up with a very decent impression. A year too late though for this list I think

I can only remember as far back as 08/09 so not much to contribute from me. I do remember Kightly scoring two lovely goals when we battered Forest at home - first one in particular was really good so would be one I'd nominate. And as a moment I like Keogh's winner at Derby.

Iwelumo v Forest in the 5-1 win is another nomination from me. What a goal that was - pace, power, quality.

Yup that was in 2009/10 - good goal though by a player who was rather prone to fucking things up quite frequently - his assist for Notlob's winner in 2010/11 was well . . . I can't find the appropriate adjective

I seem to remember that Sam Vokes' equaliser in the 2-2 away at Plymouth on the opening day of the promotion season was well worth the drive and the admission fee.

We shall not mention me losing my car somewhere near the barbican...

Ndah v Albion. Beat them 3-1 Ndah got 2 and Pollett the other. Think it was 2000/01. He rounded the GK and slotted it in.

Ndah v PNE 2003

Ebanks Blake v Charlton A (both) 2008

I'm in my element here

Dean Sturridge Crystal Palace A 2001/02

Sturridge scored another but I don't know the opponent, ball was zipped in, he did a bit of a pirouette and put it away from about 6 yards out. Either Portsmouth 1-1 or PNE or 4-0 I think.

Mark Kennedy and Kenny Miller in the Play-Off final...

First was a great strike and the Miller goal was almost a release as I though that "even Wolves can't fuck this up now!"

Ketsbaia vs Sheff Wed, nicely worked free kick
Lee Naylor volley from edge of the box vs Ipswich 2002/03?
Kenny Miller vs Preston in the 04/05 season... lovely flowing football

Jay Bothroyd vs Leeds 06/07
Andy Keogh volley from over the shoulder vs Derby 2009
