Things that make you SAD thread.

Today is my soon to be ex-partner's birthday. Last year I bought her a canvas with the lyrics of a Michael Franti song called 'Life is Better With You' on it. Today this is the space where that print used to hang.

Words cannot express how utterly heartbroken and dejected I am with my life right now.

Sorry to hear that Dire Wolf.

Break ups are shit. I don't know all of our personal circumstances but what I will say is, where possible. selfishly focus on yourself and where you are able fill your time with things you enjoy doing and that make you happy.

Over time, things will get easier but also accept that a certain level of sadness will always be there.

After reading this gesture on Facebook, went on YouTube watching Jermaine and Bradley videos, I'm a 55 year old nearly 19 stone ex lorry driver blubbing uncontrollably, I really need to get my 'man card' renewed

I don't think Reggie Kray was under a whole life tariff was he? Were they even a thing 20 years ago when Reg died?

Regarding Sarah Everard, I feel desperately sad for the tragedy that befell this beautiful young lady with her life ahead of her, also her family who's lives have been ruined by this loss and the harrowing thoughts of their loved ones final hours will haunt them.

As for that disgusting lowlife Couzens, I wouldn't give a shit if they put a bullet through his head but equally, I wouldn't mind if he lived another 40-50 years in absolute terror of possible repercussions and haunted by Sarah's sweet smile every time he closes his eyes. Absolute filth

Oh dear.

Bastards like Zouma make me sad. Fucking disgusting individual.

Animal cruelty of any kind boils my fucking piss.

It is interesting the understandable outcry regarding Zouma, yet we live in a country where blokes chases foxes and commanding their dogs to tear them up for FUN is still going on (on certain days) and our last but one PM was happy to have another vote on it being "fully" allowed again.

Agree EP. Likewise, whilst Zoumas actions are wholly wrong, it appears this story has more traction and impact that football clubs signing convicted rapists.

Civilly convicted rapist to be clear on the most recent case. And at least the club binned him.

Antonio’s comments were harsh but fair, IMO.

Of course the fact that there is video evidence of Zouma’s disgusting behavior will have turned the heat up quite a bit.

It's also shock value, unfortunately we're so used to racism we're not surprised by it when it happens (Elanga getting abuse after missing a penalty being entirely predictable).

I see our matchday programme today featured that photo of Sa with a dog with cropped ears. Wonder what the outcry would be if a footballer posted a video of “just off to get my dogs ears cropped”

I emailed the club about that image back in October with

No response, the fact they have now got it plastered all over the match day programme and social media outlets is disgusting, also unbelievable timing

This is very sad to see, a young talented player loosing his life, think everyone involved in the game feels saddened at this news.

CLUB STATEMENT - JACK JEFFERY Today We are at Half Mast.

Too Good Even for the ‘All Blacks’

It is with immeasurable sadness that we have to report the tragic loss of our beloved Jack Jeffery following our Seniors League fixture at Berkswell & Balsall yesterday 12th February.

Jack was adding another try to his phenomenal record and during the act and subsequent challenge of scoring he was injured.

He was taken to Walgrave Hospital where he tragically lost his fight.

A more committed, loyal ‘Clubman’ is hard to find. He would often return from London for training and was always at the heart of club activities.

He served his club, his teammates and the county with distinction and provided much satisfaction to the club supporters in knowing exactly where the whitewash was.

As a club, we have been overwhelmed by the messages of support and goodwill from the rugby community. Jack was calm, respected and highly thought of.

Our club and community have lost such a bright light.

On behalf of Evesham Rugby, I thank everyone whom supported Jack in his moment of need yesterday and for all the messages of support I have received from other clubs and the North Mids Union.

As a mark of respect our club is closed today. We fly at half-mast. Please take a moment today in your prayers and take your moment of silence for Jack, his family, loved ones and friends.

Reading tragic news like this should make us all try to make the most of every day. When your numbers up, and it's your time to go then that's it. I have to go to a funeral next week of a lovely young girl, aged just 17 ( my mom's Great Grandaughter). Her death came as a complete shock, which has left many people heartbroken.

Absolutely PPB, agree, make the most of every day...we're going for it, if the money runs out, fuck it.
Condolences on your loss, terrible to lose a youngster

Takes me back to the mid 90's when I ran a team in S London with Barclays - one of my staff (23) died in a car accident with her husband to be (25) 3 weeks before they were due to get married when going to look at the progress on the house that they had bought.

The amount of pressure I had to put on to get a replacement team in to cover our work on the day of the joint funeral was profound - in the end I just had to say that if there was no replacement crew then we weren't opening as everyone needed to be there - she was a lovely, kind individual.

This was the first burial I have ever been to, and although it was sad, it was also beautiful. A glass white carriage held the casket pulled by two white horses to her final resting place. She may only have had a short life but she has left her smile and sparkle on this earth forever.

Only burial I've been to (been to far too many cremations) was my sisters little boy, he was 6 and while it wasn't unexpected it was terribly sad. I went up to say goodbye to him in his open coffin, the saddest thing I've ever done, nearly broke me. Condolences to you and all the family.

Just clearing out the loft and stumbled across a portfolio of work from my previous life as a printer. This happened to be item at the very top of the box:

What a beautiful place that looks. Who would have known in 2010 what those poor souls would be going through 12 years later.

You just never know what’s round the corner. Sometimes that’s just as well. Absolutely heartbreaking.

i have been receiving work related emails from students who are located in ukraine. it is so close to home.
