Mir is a kid with no first team experience. RK is about as seasoned a pro who has been there and done that, that you could possibly find.

As Dan has intimated, just because Keane is/was a good player himself is irrelevant. He may be completely useless at trying to pass on any of his talents to others, even if he's just seen as a good influence to have around there's nothing to promise Mir would pick anything up from that either, he might be the sort of individual who needs a more focused education than just picking up on good bits he sees in others.

It could work, but it's equally likely it could be a complete waste of time and money too.

In fairness United have one of the biggest turnovers in world football. Their current owners have never put a single penny of their own into the club. In that sense all their activity is organic (although in its own way dubious, through cultivating fans from tens of thousands of miles away who will never, ever, ever go to Old Trafford and prostituting the club to a billion different sponsorship deals - it'll be a while until Wolves have an official noodle partner, United do actually have one. Really).

That's the difference between them and City, and indeed us.
