He was the Ajax version of Matt Doherty before he somehow gained a transfer to Milan where he was comprehensively found out.

Nah, Drenthe played for Everton and Reading, Emanuelson had a brief spell at Fulham and was at Sheff Wed this season. They were both shit.

Drenthe was in that Dutch U21 squad of 2007 (beat England in an epic shootout in the semi-final) that turned out to be full of serial wasters and non-achievers.

Gianni Zuiverloon, Royston Drenthe, Ryan Babel, Daniel de Ridder, Maceo Rigters, Ryan Donk...all turned out to be huge disappointments in various ways.

Actually Spurs could do with a bit of an upgrade on the right when they play 4-2-3-1 (which they do less so at the moment, but they still use it and will switch between that and a back three next season I expect). At the moment it's Son (not really his best position), Lamela (always broken and probably off), N'Koudou (N'Kou Who more like) or Sissoko (lol).
