The Transfer Thread 2015/16 - Everything Not Wolves

Sure doesn't feel that big of a gap for us whippersnappers.

You only have to look at previous scenarios with Lewandowski and Gotze who have done similar. Bayern are just on another planet. It's so difficult to compete with them and the gap seems to be getting bigger.

Are Dortmund even the second biggest spenders in Bundesliga? I'd imagine Wolfsburg could blow them out of the water with their VW backing if they wanted to.

The easiest way to look at it would be even if Dortmund sold no-one this summer, would they be in the top six favourites to win the Champions League next season? Probably not. Whereas Bayern will always be in the top three contenders at the moment, and there's no way anyone would back against them to retain the Bundesliga next season.

It's hard to even come up with a comparison point against another country, there isn't anyone near Bayern's level as far as club stature and finance goes in Germany, not even close. It's a cross between say, Basel's current on field superiority in Switzerland (won all the title in all but four seasons since 2001/2) and how much bigger in stature Celtic/Rangers are than everyone else in Scotland.

Dortmund had their best ever team and best ever manager 3-4 years ago. No chance of making it stick and even challenging to become the dominant force, they got picked off as Bayern are just miles bigger in every way.

Watford look to have beaten Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint Germain to the signing of highly rated Granada forward Isaac Success.

Not a clue about how good Isaac is but a great name.

Is it Granada or Getafe that the Pozzos already own?

Absolutely bonkers price for a Ligue 1 player on the back of one good season.

And the crazy fees for players in the premier league will of course work its way down through the divisions. Hence more league 1 and 2 clubs struggling to keep their heads above wTer.

Welcome to the new TV Deal. It is going to go fucking bonkers this summer.

Which is why the handwringing about promoted clubs getting "£100m" is misplaced - they'll spend it all unless they decide to do what Burnley did last time, bank it, sign hardly anyone and accept that relegation is going to happen in order to come back stronger next time (and you can only really do that if you're a club the size of Burnley, no chance a Boro or a Derby can get away with that).

Whether a club had £30m a decade ago or £100m now, it's irrelevant if they end up spending it all, which they will if they want to be competitive. The market just inflates and the money flies out of the game in wages, I've been hearing for 20 years about how the Premier League money is going to make it a closed shop and impossible for anyone else to get promoted.

Who is it West Ham are going in for?
