He's the complete opposite to Luiz, Mancienne has the brain but lacks the ability to make his body do what he wants.

But in the sense that they both get put at centre half and defensive midfield, and are both shit in either position, similar.

Mancienne's biggest flaw (and there are many) is his marking. Watch him off a set piece, he genuinely has no idea. Cost HSV countless goals doing that, or more accurately, not doing that.

Oh, and he heads the ball straight up in the air, every single time. Like some 21st century Paul Blades.

Yes, he impressed in that he and Djourou had them on the brink of relegation. Worst CB pairing I've ever witnessed. I've seen more pleasant abortions.

He didn't play that much last season tbf, Westermann partnered Djourou or occasionally Sobiech for most of it. 12 starts and HSV lost the vast majority of them.
