West Brom announce signing of Chris Baird on a one year deal. Poor signing, very slow and could become pedestrian very quickly.

Burnley trying to outdo them, they've signed Steven Reid.

Tom Ince to Hull. Good signing, that, definitely has potential to be a very good player

Needs to get his bonk eyed father out of his professional life. He's made it a circus for the last 18 months.

McCormack to Fulham for £11m. No wonder clubs look abroad for value and the number of British players declines

and to think I was staggered when it was being quoted at £10m.

Football has finally lost its last grip on reality.

This is why we've actually done very well to find value in the British market over the last 12 months. McCormack isn't worth anywhere near £11m.

He's 27 and has never been capped for Scotland. Leigh Griffiths has been capped for Scotland! What the fuck are you playing at Fulham?

Totally barmy figure, no way a player like that is worth that amount of money. To think Cardiff let him go for free and Leeds offered him to Palace at the end of his first season for £400K. That's some inflation!

Almost exactly 1 goal every 3 games over his career, last season the only time he's really got about that average by any significant distance, never played higher than SPL or Championship, no international experience and not really at an age to improve a great deal from where he is now.

Great bit of scouting.

I wonder if he'll get picked for Scotland now :icon_lol:

5th in line behind Fletcher, Naismith, Griffiths and Rhodes.

£11M.

£11m - wow, surely that can't be a one-off payment and must be structured.?

Regardless, fairplay to Cellino there, he has out-Moxeyed Moxey if that figure is anyway accurate.

Apparently that makes McCormack the eighth most expensive British striker of all time.

albion fans I work with are numbed by the signing of baird. They talk of returning season tickets, and/or relegation.

Glasgow-born McCormack has been capped 11 times by Scotland and has scored twice for his country.

Still overpriced though if the figure quoted above is correct.
