The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Well done Alan, delighted for you. I also know how you feel as I was a Barista for a few years before finally getting a break into a career. It's all upwards from here.

Great news Alan!

Great news, Alan! If you get stuck in the final interview, tell them you know us and you'll be fine.

If you want we can all write you a reference I'll start :

To whom it may concern

Please be advised that Alan will offer nothing less than 100% commitment to your company (please be advise this will be spread over five or six days so expect no more than 20% a day )

Rest of the time will be spent expanding his knowledge of obscure African footballers and garishly coloured football kits, just don't ask about African footballers wearing garish kits, you'll be there the rest of your life ;)

Round of golf with some old mates today - loads of sledging and banter before the game - they go 4up after 8, and crowing feverishly, only for us to fight back and win on the 18th - sweet!

"Excuse me sir, do you have a moment to talk about Moussa N'Diaye? I promise he's really very good..."

Great news Al! Really pleased to hear this.
Hope it is the start of something good for you.

Excellent news Alan, enjoy making your last coffee's and good luck with the new direction!

So, I went for my bi-annual CT Scan and consult about my memory problems. I mentioned to the Consultant that I us Google when I forget simple words and she suggested I just wait for the words to 'pop into my head'. She said something like 'Google what you don't know, not what you can't remember'.

Anyhow, the wonderful side effect of this is that it's taking me up to a couple of hours to remember the word in question, which I now shout out, without context, wherever I am.

I'm happy about that because I'm not one to get embarrassed, but anyone with me is. Hilarious stuff.

"SPRINKER!!" confused the pharmacist this morning.

First time back on the bowling rink at lunchtime today which was something to be happy about, though suspect my thigh muscles will complain tomorrow as using them in a way they have not had to do for a long time.
