The lack of understanding of the condition from some health professionals is shocking. The way my wife was treated while trying to get the treatment/medication she needed was disgusting. One doctor, who clealry didn't think hyperemesis existed, put his hands together in prayer and said 'forgive me God' while writing out her prescription. Even when she was hospitalised during her 2nd pregnancy, it was clear that the staff didn't have any understanding of hyperemesis.
