“A few weeks ago, I was thinking Wolves might mount a surprise challenge for the top half (at least) with their Portugal-on-Brum project,” writes Steve Hoare. “But now you’re telling me they’re buying two more today following the one more yesterday, is it too many? 11 new players? That’s some integration project. I’m not sure it’s particularly motivating for the players that got them to the Prem either... or have they sold all those already? What looked smart and ambitious is starting to look scattergun.” Frankly I am astonished that they’re still throwing money around, but the quality of their signings has been high. I’d be surprised if they were relegated, but there could be some teething troubles before things finally click into gear. A good team to play in August, I’d have thought."
