The Rugby Thread

Because it is hardly a first offence is it.

Tell me more about these prior offences.

He has previous for having a drink, most Rugby players do, and had an argument with a bus in 2013 from which he had concussion but he was walking at the time.

He will be on trial way before the competition.

Plus this is third strike

1) Stole bottle of vodka while with Melbourne rebels and managed to get himself suspended and kicked off a tour
2) Got so pissed on the Otley run pub crawl he got hit by a bus

He appears to have a succession of drink-related issues on his CV, and this is just another one. Not that I think he would have played anyway. Ford and Farrell are miles ahead of him.

I think England are blessed at number 10 but DC offers a quality alternative. It's a loss

1) He was never charged
2) Out with his Sale mates, its not an offence of any kind to be almost killed by walking into a bus, pissed or not.

I agree he has had a succession of drink-related issues, and still has by the look of it, but he has had no rugby disciplinary problems since he was very young.

I do agree that this incident may affect his future selection for England esp. as Lancaster has such a strict regime, but people shouldn't get so angry so quickly.

Tuilagi has been out so long for England that it's forced them to go a different way. I think he will have great difficulty in getting back in contention.

I wouldn't trust Hartley any more, no matter how good he is, so I would go with other players.

Terrible news about a great player.

Heard a story about a few years back when he was on holiday in Devon/Cornwall, he as in the local pub and some of the local lads asked him as a joke to play for them the next day and where a bit surprised to say the least when he said he would!
He couldn't play for the firsts (as he wasnt registered), so played for the seconds on the wing (say the opposition winger got a shock)! Next time he played for the baa-baas he wore their club socks.

England U20 playing in the junior World Cup, against France U20. Winners straight into semi-final.

Terrible start for us with two intercept tries for France both converted, plus a penalty, whilst England score a penalty and an unconverted try. England have been sloppy and France have taken advantage.

Half time 8-17

Oh Dear, another 7pts for France after 6 mins.
Tough now

England's problems with the set pieces

England replace their fly-half Jennings

Penalty scored by England
18-24

12 minutes left

Drop goal to France

18-30
Full Time

First defeat for England for some time. Have to wait now for other results.

Warrington player Anthony England has been charged with spitting at an opponent in their game against Huddersfield. If found guilty he faces an eight game ban. Good. Spitting at some-one is disgusting and should be punishable by a heavy ban.

England U20 made the semi-finals of the IRB World Championships and had to face South Africa,

while France had to face NZ in their semi final.

Results were:-

South Africa 20 - 28 England
New Zealand 45 - 7 France

Final is on 20th June at 2030 hrs

Set up nicely for Origin 3 mate. Good to see competitive series again.
