Hartley replaced by Jamie George of Saracens

England head coach Stuart Lancaster said:

“If we selected him (Hartley) in the World Cup squad he would have played no competitive rugby at all and we would be left exposed with only two available hookers in what is a specialised position going into the Fiji game.

"All it would take is one injury (that is not tournament ending) during the week of the Fiji game and we would only have one fit hooker in the squad for our crucial opening game and this would leave us massively exposed.

"In addition, the regulations also clearly state that in our World Cup squad we must have sufficient cover that is suitably trained and experienced in the front row in case of injury.

"This is clearly not the case if we begin the tournament with a suspended hooker and as such we have been left with no choice but to replace him.

“It also goes without saying that we need all our players to be able to control their discipline and make good decisions under pressure, the World Cup will clearly require this, and Dylan has not clearly displayed this in this latest incident. This is an area that he still needs to address.

“Dylan will be replaced by Jamie George in the World Cup squad and will not be considered until the suspension is served."

So that's first choice hooker and centre not picked for being wankers and arguably a first choice flanker because he plays overseas

Any other team as weakened already?

As for Davies it's a shame but I feel with Wales that their team is too settled. A bit of a change won't hurt

Looks like no fairytale ending in the PRO12 final for O'Connell, Glasgow playing good stuff and winning well

Great finish in the Worcester/Bristol game last night, two tries in the last 5 minutes earn Worcester promotion by a single point over the 2 legs.

Good for West Midlands rugby to have a club in the premiership
For how long? Yo-yo.

Just watched England XV thrash the Barbarians, 73-12.
Danny Cipriani MOM with two tries and 11 kicks from 11. Good team performance and great entertainment.

Really don't read too much into BaaBaa's games anymore. A good end of season run-out for England though.

Cipriani charged with drink driving after the match. That's another who definitely won't be at the world cup

Absolute idiots.

He's the third potential game changer ruled out now.

I don't see why he should be out of the World Cup. It was a stupid thing to do but not a droppable offence IMO.

It is completely a droppable offence. If Hartley has been dropped and Tuilangi has been dropped, then this is 100% droppable.

I don't see what that has to do with it. They are playing rugby not driving cars. Hartley's was game related.

I thought Tuilangi's assault was probably a step to far.

They have both been found guilty, though i'm sure Cipriani is guilty until he actually goes to court I don't think it should affect his career.

I see where you're coming from,
But one rule for one is one rule for all.

He hasnt been found guilty so I dont think he will be dropped and Lancaster is a pragmatic sort of bloke.

Hartley with his suspension will miss the build up games so wont be match fit for the Wales & Australia games, and there is probably a trust issue as his recent suspensions have happened in big games when the pressure is on, doubt Lancaster would trust him in a world cup semi-final. As for Tuilangi he has a history of discipline problems and England did alright without him in the 6N, it is not as if he is head and shoulders above the other centres in the squad.
