The Rugby Thread

Bit of a strange performance by England, large periods of control, if a little stodgy, followed by switching off periodically.
Early days but not sure about Borthwick yet, lot of work to do before the World Cup.

Referee has decided England are losing today

Tbf England have been poor, turn the ball over every time they get any momentum.

The Refereeing at the breakdown is incredibly poor.

I would say England have been weak at the breakdown. Its very much an England performance we've seen far to often in recent years. Too many penalties, too many easy turnovers and too many basic errors.

French forwards have owned England for 90% of the game. Borthwick has a massive job to get us ready for WC, Jones should have been sacked much earlier.

It’s always Jones’s fault. People will still be pointing at him in 10 years time.

This WC is a right off, QF the most we can expect.

Borthwick might not be the answer but we've been going backwards for a couple of years.
Pretty sure Jones never played for England nor is he managing today. Players need to own it. Cowards have hid behind friendly journalists for years.

It’s a bit of everything, players are just hiding and not thinking for themselves on the pitch that however goes back to Jones robotic running of things. Some players perform well for their clubs but are atrocious in an England shirt.

No idea what Jones never playing for England has got to do with it but yes the rest of your post is true.

We (and I mean me and you too) have got into the habit of blaming Eddie Jones for everything. I’d say some part is latent xenophobia but ultimately he has never played for England. Rugby is about the players on the pitch.

Take Genge as an example - I really like him but first thing he says in his interview is ‘against a team that well coached’..

As if he’s not playing for a team coached by the same guy who coached him to the title last season.
