I have never been overly impressed by Jackett. Winning league one with out resources at the time was the minimum expectation which he achieved. Last season was decent enough but not without significant faults, not least the failure to secure a decent forward until we got Afobe. His pre and post match interviews are bland - he knows if he saves his best for the players but he comes across as uninspiring.

For me, he was probably the right man at the right time but that time has gone. He should go.

+1

Right, I want a box for : keep him until a successor is found, one that is obtainable and fits our criteria, it could be Satan for all I care as long as he does a job and finally attains the clubs / players potential.

Lose against Burnley and he'll surely be gone. Well, he should go. If we continue like this, we'll end up in the relegation mix. Let's hope a change of manager can save us from that .....now!

Get Paul Lambert in now.

An inspired shout! We should also sign Samaras, bring Henrik Larsson out of retirement, change our kit to green and white hoops and sing YNWA before every game.

I think because there's an international week between Burnley and Ipswich ?, then a defeat against Burnley may see the end of Jackett, because of the break an extended look for the new gaffer..

The powers that be should already be thinking, and quietly approaching, our next manager by now. If they aren't, then they have not taken heed of the lessons from history.

Who next? Here's one I don't think anyone has mentioned... Roberto di Matteo. Doesn't seem to be doing anything after steering Schalke from 11th to 6th in seven and a half months (still a Europa League place), and quitting following a disagreement over the future direction of the club in May 2015.

Not averse to the West Midlands either, but would many have a problem with his WBA connection (getting them promoted to the Premiership in his first full season)?

Id love nothing more then to see Kenny Jackett pull us through this bad spell again. Jackett has raised hopes over the last few seasons, however we must think that by keeping Mick for that little longer it damaged us terribly.

It was more the lack of planning for after Mick that damaged us. Yes we should have said bye bye in November but what came after Mick was a disaster of our own creation.

Agreed on one part of that, but Mick did keep faith blindly with a hell of a lot of players we knew weren't up for the task, and his recruitment on top was very very shabby to boot.

Fixed it for you Jase

Are you referring to that Mick who got us to the prem in his first season when he inherited half a squad and kept us there for successive seasons only being drip fed minor money for transfers.
If we had replaced in the autumn and stayed up it wouldnt have been with anyone like Kenny Jackett who is struggling to compete tactically in the league below. If we had kept Mick and gone down we would not have gone down again and deliverred ourselves into the arms of second raters like Kenny Jackett IMO.
Mick McArthy is the most successful manager in the last 30 years of WWFC. FACT

He's still also the reason why we failed to progress once we got promoted no matter how good a job he did before it.

Second season but hey ho. Seriously he was too loyal and too nice to certain players and that cost us. FACT

With Sako having left, Dicko being out for the season, and Afobe not at his best, is it any wonder we are struggling a little. Any team at this level would find it difficult to cope with such a situation.
