The Definitive TWF Worst Wolves XI Thread

Little bit of thread necromancy...

Are any of our current lot troubling the XI on the first post?

Ki-Jana Hoever

This was pre Nuno so as bad as Doherty was back then he shouldn't really be in that squad anymore.

Hwang every day and twice on a Thursday

At least with diarrhea there is something of an upside, with a bit of weight loss...

I've been on this forum for 13 years (unlucky for some). There have been a few low times, a lot of meltdowns, fallings out, rants etc. I dontvthink Ive ever knownnit be so universally downbeat and worn down. Reasons its got to this stage are many, some terrible players, some terrible mamagers but mainly its down to Fosun. I accept the very best of times in that period have come under their ownership but that seems to be due to lucking out with Nuno amd Jorge.

Rob Edwards is a crazy choice - he’s a manager who, for me, is a product of the situation and can ride the wave.

He failed to stem the bleeding of a Luton side who probably should’ve finished top 10 last season and that would be enough for me to move off this deal.

I’m calling it now - no chance he finishes the season with Wolves.

I still think we'll end up on around 20. Not that it matters really.

The only hope I have for the rest of the season is that we sign 1 or 2 players in Jan that will be vaguely acceptable in the Championship and we fire 3 or 4 no hopers like José Sá into the sun.

We'd be better off waiting until the Summer for British based players. Let's say for the sake of argument there's a player at Bristol City/Millwall/Derby etc we like. Why would they sign for us in Jan? There's a small chance they'll be playing in the PL next season with their current clubs and zero with us. In July when they haven't gone up we are a much more attractive option and will probably pick them up cheaper too.

PL loans without the chance of signing them in the Summer are pointless, just burning money for the sake of it. Which leaves foreign signings, who we can only bring in by moving people out. If we can do that and there's a goalkeeper out there then sure sign them, elsewhere on the pitch I wouldn't bother.

I'd sell everything that isn't nailed down whilst the value is higher than it'll be in the Summer. Whether we get 12 points or 8 doesn't have any bearing on next season. Being shitter than Derby were leaves a stain on the fans, but is irrelevant to how we attack next season and I say that as someone it'll affect more in terms of day to day interaction than most others on here.

It's easier to criticise than praise when it comes to football. Look at the size of a verdict thread on here when we've lost 3-0 as opposed to won 3-0. So while we spent last week bigging up some of the best players we've had in the last five decades, the time has come to call out those who sent a shudder down our spines when we saw their name on the teamsheet. It's time to decide on the worst possible XI that we can come up with in our time watching Wolves.

The scoring system is the same as the previous thread, put your worst player at #1 and then those who are saved only by someone being marginally more inept as we go down. It's a 4-4-2 formation again with the order of GK, RB, LB, CH (x2), RM, LM, CM (x2), ST (x2), Manager.

It's up to you really. If you want to pick purely on ability, then that's fine. If you pick someone because they grossly failed to live up to expectations, then that's alright. If you want to pick some 6'4'' slowpoke lug in midfield because he got beaten in the air by Jay Tabb once, seems ok. If you're doing it because the person in question is a tubby, shit bearded, terminally lazy sham of a defender who'd look more at home playing for Willenhall than Wolves and sends his sister to defend him on a forum, then I'm not going to stop you. No timeframe constraints on this one, I don't think we need them. Loan players are fine, the only qualification is they must have played at least one first team game for Wolves.

So, as ever, goalkeepers up first. Three picks. Explanations as to why they enraged you are always welcome.

The team:

---------------------------Andy Lonergan-----------------------------

Matt Doherty-----Roger Johnson-----Kaspars Gorkss-----Mo Camara

Greg Halford------Steve Corica-------Darren Ferguson-----Rohan Ricketts

-----------------Steve Claridge-----Tomasz Frankowski---------------------

Manager: Dean Saunders
Well, atleast you’ve been consistent with Doc 🤣

Agree wholeheartedly. Any decent Championship player will have better options in January, be that a team in the PL that is likely to still be there next season or a Championship team challenging for promotion.

Sadly I think this 100% on the button.
Feels wrong saying it or even thinking it but thats where we are.
