The Official FIFA World Cup 2022 Megathread

I would say the captain getting booked and walking off in front of the largest audience in world football would have an impact. As you say, won’t happen though.

I had todays match on while I did other things but if FIFA are going to do this then I am turning off. They can get fucked and so can their shit stain of a tournament.

Yeah you laugh Mark you arse. When you have a transgender child, assuming a woman ever lets you close enough to try, you might, just might, understand.
The gesture rather than the cause tickled me, if anyone were so steadfast in their defence of LGBTQ+ rights then they wouldn't be in Qatar to begin with. Storming off the field because they got a ticking off for token gesture support would be something of a farce in my opinion.

Thanks for your concerns over my relationship status and parental prospects but they are however misplaced. Biggest obstacle to me ever siring any offspring, daunted by gender identity issues or not, is my own interest in fulfilling such a role, regardless of opportunity.

I do find it a difficult issue to wrap my head around though, which doesn't mean I don't sympathise with those who encounter such doubts, as I can't say I've ever contemplated that I myself might be in such a situation. I'm sure we've all weighed up relative masculinity/femininity against our peers from time to time but never has it encroached on my thinking that I would doubt my genetically determined gender was not the best fit for me. Thus it's a topic I genuinely struggle to get into the thinking of, it's just so far removed any thought I've ever had personally, it must be a bewildering realisation for those which come to such a conclusion.

It’s more a sign of an immature mind in Mark’s case.
I don't think there's anything immature about Mark's mind.
he just has a different way of articulating stuff. But its not immature. Frequently its more thoughtful and well written than your punchy sharp little digs. Not particularly insightful, just more snippy.

There is plenty immature about sticking laughing emojis out everywhere. I think this forum is pretty much aware of the situation I have with my step child so my views on inequality for LGBTQ+ are not really something I consider a laughing matter. It’s been there in the open for long enough on here.

Team for today?

-----Foden--------------Kane-------------------Grealish

A little forethought to include rainbow colours into the official kit design would have avoided the threat of a yellow card. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

I
Can't see Trent or Grealish starting, and neither should. Foden benched too apparently

I
Think the team has already been leaked.

Pickford

Trippier
Stones
Maguire
Shaw

Bellingham
Rice
Mount

Sterling
Saka
Kane

I hope Kane wears the arm band, takes the booking, Bale follows suit later and other teams do the same as the tournament progresses.

If various nations are serious about making a stand against these arseholes, it would make them look even worse and even more petty if they go ahead with disciplining captains who go ahead with wearing it.

Swap the armband every match so 'captains' aren't getting banned left, right and centre.

But once he's booked, does he remove it or face another yellow leading to a red?
Maybe the whole squad could wear them as they come onto the field and remove them just gefore kick off.

I guess FIFA had said a booking and if the armband isn't taken off then another yellow card will follow
