71 games played, average QB rating of 74.1, ~18,000 yards, 84 TDs, 80 INTs.

That ain't too shabby. More INTs than you'd like but those stats still say he's better than probably 20ish starting QBs in the league.

Worse QB rating and TD:int ratio than EJ Manuel... Just saying...

I don't believe he's ever had a top-20 season. Matter of fact, a quick stat check shows that he's been bottom-5 in quarterback rating, interception percentage, AND completion percentage in most of his career. How is that anything but ABYSMAL??

Your own stats are bad. Lifetime completion of 56%, 1:1 TD/INT, and 72 QBR.... yuck.

He couldn't hold onto his job with the NYJ. THE NYJ!! He is bad. No way around it. Could be he marinated on the Philly sideline and magically became good, or that being surrounded by much more talent cuts out his nonsense, but $50 says otherwise.

BREAKING NEWS!
Report: OLB Pernell McPhee Signing With Chicago Bears
According to the official Baltimore Ravens Website (7 minutes ago from this post)
'The outside linebacker capitalized on a big 2014 season by agreeing to a five-year deal with the Chicago Bears reportedly worth $40 million, according to The Baltimore Sun. McPhee can officially ink the deal when free agency opens Tuesday at 4 p.m

Brian Hoyer to Houston. Team will retain Ryan Mallett.

Now Hoyer, there's a shit QB.

So tomorrow is when all this free agency business kicks off then? Does it usually go crazy from the start or is it weeks of speculation with not much official movement?

As far as I know teams are allowed to start negotiating terms as soon as the Franchise Tag deadline has passed. Pen can't be put to paper officially until later, though.

It's similar to how the first team in the draft is free to negotiate with prospects almost immediately after they declare. This way they ensure that their pick signs with them soonee than later, although this has been less of an issue since the Rookie Cap came into existence. Mario Williams is the last player I remember being signed by a team prior to the draft actually occurring.

This is my first off season since I've actually followed the sport properly so I'm quite intrigued by how it all goes down with free agency and the draft and everything.

It can definitely be a lot to keep up with, but ultimately I think it does the job of maintaining competitive equity (while simultaneously rewarding smart squad management) very well.

I think it's more fun than our transfer window and the draft in the middle throws a spanner in the works too. Together with the franchise tag hold outs and general strops I think it's great fun.

The system does seem to keep things relatively even, teams working out where to spend their cash and who to break the back for and who to let go - I see that the Cowboys will keep Bryant but probably have to let Murray go for example.

Well, now they're reporting Frank Gore will sign with Indianapolis. Go figure.

Jay Cutler expected to be announced as Bears' starting QB.

Saints' TE/WR Jimmy Graham has been offered to the Seattle Seahawks in an unspecified trade.

Graham trade now reported as finalized.

Saints receive C Max Unger and "multiple" draft picks.

I texted a 49ers scout about Jimmy Graham trade and he sent me back one word: "F--k."
