The NFL Thread

He's getting traded this week, so teams have got to make decisions before the civil cases play out. Also likely to get a 6 game ban at some point if he ends up paying them off. Fan reaction will be interesting, I think he'll go a team in the South rather than the scrutiny he'll get in a more liberal state. It's why Seattle would surprise me, Panthers makes sense
That's fair.

In which case he should stay in Texas.

The Jags are this year's FA over payers, but have the room to do so. Happy for Dougy P that they have the chance to be competitive and Lawrence will be have zero excuses if he's not the player everyone thought he was

Busted WRs are a dime a dozen.

Rumours that Watson meeting interested teams today (Monday) & tomorrow. Includes Panthers, Saints and Browns, but he has rejected Seahawks.

The Bills have signed 33yr old Von Miller to a 6yr deal 😳

Except its not really. Its voidable at no cap hit after 3.

Davante Adams traded to the Raiders for a 1st and some extras. $28.m py is the headline number, highest in the league for a WR

Wanted to play with Derek Carr apparently as they were college teammates. Rodgers also knew it was coming according to sources, so not going to set him off again.

Adams is good but he's not 28m/yr good.

I have been wrong every time with Watson predictions, so here goes with my final guess.

He will be traded on Friday to the Saints.

or Falcons

Falcons have no money. Got to stick with Ryan one more year then can cut for a $25m ish cap hit next year. Can barely sign FAs and draft picks again, Ridley getting suspended has actually provided a little bit of room to do so.

Mental how the whole team can basically have so few good players yet be so messed up on cap space.

On Adams, he’s pretty much undefendable 1v1, so if you’ve got him, Waller and then Jacobs and Renfrow then that’s a pretty outrageous offense.

This time I think you are correct, they've been restructuring all and sundry to find the cap space and he stays in the South where the media and fan scrutiny won't be as bad. The last part of that is my summation, you'd know better than me, just really based on the very high percentage of Philly fans in polling who didn't want him irrespective of the clear and obvious upgrade he'd be. I assume other big cities in the North would have a similar reaction where as red states would be less bothered
