The NFL Thread

Hope I can get to see him in London later this year.

$153 million guaranteed is bananas money.

Russell Wilson on his way to Denver by the looks of things.

Not surprised he's left Seattle am surprised he's gone to the AFC though given the strength of the QB's

Agreed between the two teams, but Wilson has final say. Might say no with who's already in that division.

He's already said yes and waived his no trade clause. 2 1's 2 2's and 3 players including Lock and Fant. Can't imagine Lockett is having a good afternoon.

Derek Carr is a top half QB and the worst in that division

Aaron Rodgers has said he'll be back next year only.

Says the deal is not the one reported hmmm.

Always drama with him.

Looks like a good move all round. Can't wait for Broncos v Chiefs twice a season.

edit - good move all round unless the Seahawks think Drew Lock will make them relevant.

Seattle will be drafting a QB I would think. Or maybe they just eat this coming season and then hope a #1 pick worthy QB is in next year's draft.

Anything coming through college at QB Alan?

Not this draft. Next year is supposedly strong though. Bryce Young the name of the supposed superstar

I have question marks over Bryce as a "sure thing". But he's got the work ethic and raw skill to be a bona fide HOFer. Will be a matter of keeping his confidence in check. Sometimes he's almost too relaxed.

@Johnny75

CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams are probably the other names to keep an eye out for.

Stroud is like Bryce, all the talent in the world, just has to keep his head on straight. They're both smaller guys but mobile enough that they could succeed behind a less-than-stellar offensive line a la Burrow.

Williams is a wildcard, and I've not seen as much of him, but he's the most pro-ready physically and has the most arm strength (though Young and Stroud are no slouches, obviously). High upside guy but more likely to go the way of Dwayne Haskins than Josh Allen, IMO.

Take it they are coming out next year Alan? This year's probable 1 Pickett is widely agreed would have been 6 last. Willis is the wild card, has the arm and legs x factor, but accuracy is Hurts like so I read

In my mind there's no way Willis is a starting QB in the NFL in 3 years. Pickett I'm betting will be Gardner Minshew v2.0.

Young, Williams, and Stroud are all expected to come out if they have good seasons, IIRC. Williams would be the wildcard in that regard, too, as he still has quite a bit to prove in terms of his ability to be consistent.

He (Williams) is very much a "woah" player but sometimes it's "woah" for the wrong reasons. Like a pick that makes the defender look like the intended receiver. Or taking a sack that you just shouldn't be taking when you could have thrown it away.

Well fuck me, I'm wrong. Williams was a freshman last year; he won't be eligible for the draft.

Stroud and Young are the immediate names, then. I'll keep my ears open.
