The NFL Thread

Not sure I agree with Kupp getting MVP over Donald, but hey ho!

Right team won in the end. Magnificent defence from the Rams, Miller, Jones and Donald all stepped up.

Would've been harsh if they hadn't won given the offensive PI not given against Ramsey (who had a very poor game imo).

If the Bengals improve that OL in the off-season they'll be some team next season.

Think the Rams are 1 and done.

Agree with this. Apart from a couple of big plays, one which clearly should never have stood, I didn't think the Bengals were all that good. The Rams took over from the middle of the 3rd quarter onwards and the Bengals never laid a glove on them really.

I knew by not watching it I'd be giving everyone else a good game. 😂

If I'd stayed up I'm sure it would have been a blowout.

Just watched as live without knowing the result. That second half was a tough watch. Bengals controversially took Chase over Sewell in the draft, not a decision you can criticise, but they absolutely have to prioritise the oline this time. Asking Burrow to do what they are week after week just isn't sustainable. Think if OBJ hadn't get injured it would have been a 2 or 3 score win

Half time show is a load of bollocks. Pepsi should be asking for their money back
Main news story today wasn't the game itself, but how great the halftime show was!

I agree with you - really poor sound quality, a bunch of has-beens, no recognisable tunes, bad set design, etc.

The half time show was great and they are some of the most recognisable tunes of the era, and it had a very pro LA, pro rap and black culture vibe to it, the latter of which the NFL needs more of. The sound quality was not good though on the TV feed, feel like that's always the way but it's always just off, which I presume is on the broadcaster.

I'm not a fan of any of the acts but California Love, Lose Yourself, Still Dre, and In Da Club are all very recognisable, if not for the original then for being in adverts, drops in sports programmes etc. It was about celebrating LA music

Any musical performance that involves Kendrick Lamar is automatically elevated.

Eminem isn't from LA but I guess he gets a pass because of his ties to Dre.

Would have been a million times better getting Metallica to do it. Although Papa Hett is much more into baseball as a massive SF Giants fan.

As a hip-hop head, respectfully disagree!

It would have been equally awesome for different reasons. :)

It has annoyed me for years that Metallica have never done the show but the riff from Sad But True has as Kid Rock fucking nicked it.

I hated the set dressing a lot. Just put an "in the round" stage in there. It seemed like half the crowd couldn't see what was going on at all times. That was weird.

How would that have been relevant? They're from San Francisco.
I know. It's just as I understand it baseball rather than football is his love, and the same with Kirk. Mind you they were scheduled to do a gig for the Indian F1 grand prix that never happened so maybe he isn't too fussed!

That screen is a thing of utter architectural beauty. Absolutely staggering. No wonder the joint cost billions to build.

All of those songs are recognisable (apart from maybe the Kendrick Lamarr stuff) and I'm not really much of a hip hop fan.

The worst thing was a the set which just looked odd.
