The NFL Thread

I can imagine the Patriots trying to find some way to trade him to replace Brady. Probably would cost half their roster and about ten million years of draft picks.

They are offering Brady another $30m deal. The challenge the Chiefs will have as with any side with a franchise quarterback is when they have to pay him and balance that with the needs around him. He's going to get a record contract either this Summer or next depending on how they choose to play it

Mahomes is a generational talent but he puts himself in stupid situations. IMO he may end up as a sort of über-deluxe RG3; his body won't maintain this level of play into his mid 30s with the way he takes hits.

I'd say that applies more to Lamar. I can't see him still being in the league beyond 30, more of a running back than quarterback timeframe

Shame you can't see it in the UK unless you buy the ESPN Player.

Cheers James I'll take a look.

Early Vegas predictions for win totals next season:

Cardinals 6.5
Falcons 8
Ravens 11
Bills 8.5
Panthers 6.5
Bears 8
Bengals 5.5
Browns 8
Cowboys 9
Broncos 8
Lions 6.5
Packers 9.5
Texans 8.5
Colts 7.5
Jaguars 6.5
Chiefs 11.5
Raiders 7
Chargers 7.5
Rams 8.5
Dolphins 5.5
Vikings 9.5
Patriots 10.5
Saints 10
Giants 6.5
Jets 6.5
Eagles 10
Steelers 9
49ers 10.5
Seahawks 9
Buccaneers 7.5
Titans 8.5
Washington 5.5

They're all bunched. A couple of teams - inc Washington - are likely to get less than 5.5. At least two will get more than 11.5

Generous for Washington. We are crap.
SF went from number two Draft Pick to the Superbowl, by picking a DE out of Ohio State, Washington are likely to pick a DE out of Ohio State at number 2 in Chase Young. They have a very good defensive coach so that side of the ball will be good. They are in a division where all the teams 'should' be stronger, but ultimately it'll come down to what they have in Haskins. If he is the real deal, I have my doubts, then I can see them being a progressive 8-8 side
