The NFL Thread

The NFL flexing all the best games to 9.25pm (uk) is a bit naff. Could have left the NFC East ones at 6 and put the AFC ones later. Now we get to see a Patriots walkover and none of the games involving the 4 sides going for the last play off spot in the AFC.

Tony's point was they're putting the dull games on early, and the interesting ones on late. Nothing to do with where we live.

Merry Christmas all.

AB working out at the Saints, all a bit pointless

Especially as the NFL have said that as soon as he signs for anyone he's going straight on the Commissioners exempt list so probably won't play a down this season.

Appreciate I'm talking to myself, but Philly have got to the play offs without the following for the bulk of the game today and the majority for a lot of the season. All would be in the starting 22:

Defense
M Jackson
Darby
Mills
Maddox

Offense
Sanders
Ertz
Agholor
D Jackson
Johnson
Brooks
Jeffrey

That's half the team and 2/3 of the starting offense. Remarkable coaching job offensively with a bunch of practice squad players and bizarrely without any weapons Wentz has grown and stopped trying to force things. Played like Rodgers the last month, taking what the defense gives him with the odd wonder throw.

Have a chance against Seattle/San Fran at home, Wilson always kills them, but with their injury situation I think I'd prefer them. If they eventually go to the Saints they'll be torched

The Browns have been gash for 5 years. If you are going for competitive then 2004 is the last time a team went back to back in the NFC East. All 4 sides have won it at least twice in that period, although granted sometimes, this year being one, it's the tallest dwarf who wins
Another year without back to back winners. Won't be next year either, Dallas will go to the Superbowl if they get the right head coach.

Saw that Wentz managed 4000 yards with no receiver getting over 500, the injuries have been crazy for them this year.

Pats really screwed it up for themselves yesterday (Oh dear, what a pity). Instead of a week off they now have to play the Titans next week. Could very easily lose that, which would mean the winner of Texans/Bills gets to play the Chiefs. That could also get a surprise result, but it doesn't matter as the Ravens will beat any of them.

NFC much more wide open, good luck predicting those games. (49ers?)

I read Bellichik has a terrible record against the Dolphins. Think it's now at 4-12 after yesterday.

I honestly wonder if there coaches have actually coached a game before. 2nd and 10 in comfortable FG range and you run Frank gore who has been terrible and not Singletary who has done something everytime he’s touched the ball. Unsurprisingly TFL.

Then you could just call another safe play and kick a FG but instead run a pass get sacked and intentional grounding.

Then try the 54 yarder, but no. Run a 4th and 27 and get sacked. Total shambles.

After all that drama they get the FG in the end. OT it is.
