The NFL Thread

There is a scenario whereby all NFC East teams finish 6-10
Cowboys lose all games
Eagles beat Cowboys but lose other 3
Giants win all 4
Washington win all games except the Giants one.
Reality says Dallas will win it with 8-8

It's ridiculous that Washington are still in the division fight after being utterly atrocious.

Ravens are the first AFC team to book there place in the play offs

Vikings moved to 9-4 last night. Mad that with a win vs the Chargers next week the Vikings can move to 10-4 and they will still probably 6th seed in the NFC, 10-11 wins could conceivably not be enough to get in meanwhile Dallas are winning their division at 6-7.

Anyone who thinks all of their Championships are not earned on the back of cheating and are tainted is deluded. They were caught cheating 12 years ago, they've never stopped. They have spent the years since laughing at the rest of the NFL.

As much as I don't like the Patriots and certainly don't think Brady is the GOAT you can't deny their quality and they still have to win those games and they haven't cheated in every game. That's just tin hat stuff.

All time I would have Starr, Montana, the Steelers QB in the seventies (Bradshaw?), and possibly a case for Marino, Elway and maybe Theismann. Number of rings isn’t everything.

Agreed that rings isn't everything, but that's not the way it's viewed by those, for example, that will induct Eli Fucking Manning to the HOF.

And that's why rings shouldn't be counted and why Brady isn't the best. Favre, Brees, Montana, P. Manning, Young, Elway, and Marino are all better. I would think Rodgers is close to being so too and I didn't see Bradshaw, Starr or Theisman play.

I don't think Brady would be anywhere near the success he's been without Belichick whereas all the other would have been and that's the difference for me.

Eli losing on Sunday gives him an all time losing record. I think that counterbalances the rings

Theismann was fucking boss. When I first got into NFL on channel 4 in the early eighties him and Montana were the giants with Marino and Elway the young bucks. That leg break denied another five seasons of him really.

I have only seen footage of Bradshaw and Starr obviously.

I would like to add Phil Simms at the Giants as a possible. Dragged that franchise to a Lombardi

It was Montana and Boomer when I started watching with Marino, Elway and Jim Kelly who were the stars of the day.

Jim Kelly is another tremendous shout.

Unbelievably New York Giants were originally going for Montana in the 1979 draft but he went to the 49ers and they had to settle for Simms. I would say both franchises did alright in that draft!

Afc North Wrapped for the Ravens, across the divisions I’d say the Afc North normally is the best.

I'd love to see the logic behind that because a league that includes the Bengals and the Browns there is nothing that will hang it up statistically in the last 20 years.

It’s a highly competitive division rivalry wise apart from the Bengals being absolute gash this year and the browns last year.

You’re probably right but it would be nice to have a non political discussion

The Browns have been gash for 5 years. If you are going for competitive then 2004 is the last time a team went back to back in the NFC East. All 4 sides have won it at least twice in that period, although granted sometimes, this year being one, it's the tallest dwarf who wins
