The NFL Thread

Wasn’t expecting that once the saints had come back, great play from Thielen to get them down there and lovely throw from Cousins to get the win

End of the road for.the Eagles. Shame, I just find the Seahawks such a boring team.

The Vikings were superb, they outplayed the Saints and nobody picked the Vikings before that game. Really pleased for Cousins to get a huge win in that dome, such a tough place to win and he came up big on the most vital drive of the game. The throw to Thielen was a beauty.

The Saints were just bad yesterday, Brees in particular had a shocker which is very unusual, bad decision making and bad play calling. I thought the Vikings were bang average bar that Thielen catch which was brilliant.

They were bad because the Vikings were superb on defence (for 3 quarters) constant pressure - forcing Brees back, the Saints only really had any success with Hill because he's more mobile. The Vikings were huge underdogs, playing in a hostile atmosphere on the road, if they were bang average they wouldn't have been able to win.

I agree Deano, thought the Vikes were excellent yesterday defensively. Brees was rarely pressured in the regular season and they got a lot of pressure on him with their defensive front. Deserved their victory even though I thought on the game winning TD Rudolph clearly pushed the DB off to get separation.

I agree, thought the Vikes were defensively excellent apart from right at the end when Zimmer did his usual cautious approach, really soft coverage and basically just let the saints get a fg to tie the game.

Agreed although I give them some leeway considering Alexander and Hughes were out and Rhodes and Waynes got hurt during the game. Hard to defend the pass with the many corners banged up.

How big 'football' (especially the Cowboys) is in Texas.

San Antonio is almost 300 miles from Dallas (think Wolves-Glasgow). The main headline on last night's local TV news was Mike McCarthy being introduced as Cowboys head coach. Two of the stations sports reporters 'discussed' the press conference and were no more insightful than the E&S ("Jerry runs the club").
Later in the show - Sports. The San Antonio Spurs beat the Celtics in an incident-packed game last night and the show always includes 90 seconds of highlights and coach/player interviews. Not yesterday. Three more minutes of Mike McCarthy including his opinion of the Dez Bryant 'catch' from 6 years ago, and the reporters literally repeating everything McCarthy said. Finally one sentence on the Spurs game.

Almost 300 miles

This 49ers CB looks awful. No idea how that’s gone for a TD

Big if, but IF the Titans can keep this close in the 1st half, then they can win this. Henry typically wears opposing defenses down and then runs and runs in the 2nd half. Ravens may need to win this game before half-time - and that interception from Jackson does not help.

Fucksake Lamar, I’m getting that post season paranoia we’ll fuck this up

The levels of drops here are almost like it’s match fixing.
