It is bollocks but the way our fans were raging about it, slagging him off and hoping he fails remains ridiculous. Man gets offered job and rejects it to stay where he is, hold the front page.
Agreed, my issue was why the opportunity wasn't attractive enough to him. We appear to be addressing some of those barriers with Lopetegui which on the face of things we weren't prepared to do for him

It seems after JL said no we moved to setting a system up where he would just be the Head Coach, nothing else. People employed around him who would remain if he fooked off (the stuff around Rob Edwards being an example of that). Maybe allowed to bring a couple of coaches in with him but would have less of a say than Bruno did and Scott would keep his ultimate veto and essentially decide who we buy/sell/give away/loan out for fuck all. We essentially made it not that impressive or tempting, unless you were called Scott Sellars.

Huge flip back from us when JL said he wanted it. Probably a lucky escape for all concerned in that little search for a replacement between the JL moments. Would explain why we were not not interested in a Pedro Martins type as we knew he would say tell us piss off and never expected an up and coming coach to do the same.

I can imagine why he said no in the first place.

And once we had fucked everything totally Lopetegui probably rang up and said 'I'll take it but on my terms'.

I don't think we went to JL with the same terms as Beale. I would say everything bar his Sporting Director mate was fine. The events that followed opened up that door.
We just seem to have gone a bit crazy after he said no and had a desire to build this little group, essentially managed by Scott.

That's just terrible leadership.

Sellars was never equipped to do that. Man City binned him for a very good reason.

Well, yes and has been for 18 months or so.

Looks like we have finally got an adult in charge now, so onwards and upwards (hopefully)

As for Beale, hope he does well at Rangers, just to stop part of my family bitching when they lose v St Mirren...

Yeah, thing is Nathan we needn't have been in this shit situation where we're approaching novice managers in the Championship. We got there by sticking with the dork you said we should stick with. So I wouldn't take too much of a high ground, Mr Rioja.

Gary O’Neil confirmed as permanent Bournemouth manager, 18 month contract.

Well he has a European trophy on his palmares for a start. The second half of the season is all about using his ability to get out of dodge without a relegation and then we can build for next season.

The big plus is the statement in the release that players and agents that weren’t even slightly interested under the last fool are keen to enter into negotiation with JL at the helm.

Beale to Rangers done. Should be official today.

Going to be some salty Wolves fans when he tells the press Rangers are bigger than Wolves and a club you cannot turn down.

The whole thing is very

Might have been a bit annoying if we were still on the hunt for a new coach, but the link to us is done, gone, it didn't happen, we got JL, we move on, he moves on.

I'd suggest that QPR fans will be far more annoyed about it than any of our fans should be.

If we had got Beale it would have been to work within the very broken Sellars structure, its probably why he didn;t want the job. Its worked out well for us as that structure is being dismantled. Win/win - whats not to like?

There shouldn’t be. We ended up with a superior manager.
You've met other people and/or read their reactions to things that they shouldn't care about before?

Of course we are have come out of the situation with the win here. Beale staying loyal (lolz) has allowed the rebuild at Wolves BUT some people will not let it go, especially if he says anything at all that they feel puts our club down

Beale was obviously Gerrard's number 2 at Rangers and they had good success together there, so he probably feels like it's good career progression.

Rangers #2 > QPR Manager > Rangers #1

It's shit for the QPR fans, mind. And Beale hasn't come out of this very well with all of the guff he spouted about loyalty etc when we were sniffing around him. It also says a lot about his personality that he didn't fancy a relegation fight but is happy to go somewhere where they'll finish, at absolute worst, top 2 by default.

Think we dodged a bullet there, personally and as others have said; we have a far superior manager now. It just took us a while to get him!
