The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2014/15

All the blame should be placed at Peace and Burtons door for appointing him and signing the garbage ie Ideye, Irvine should be nowhere near a PL job as head coach.
Albion fans were firmly blaming Downing and Robert Kelly on Saturday as well citing their previous roots for the reason.

Yet when Downing was caretaker manager a couple of years back he did a great job and a lot of their fans wanted him to get the job permanently yet now he is some kind of Terry Connor Antichrist

They should be a bit more grateful, the points Downing picked up over Christmas last year at a significantly better points per game ratio than either Clarke or Mel managed are what kept them up.

It's the mentality of some fans tho there anger is being vented at two blokes who haven't played for wolves in over 20 years, but leaving Lescott out of it and he played for us as recent as 2006.
How fickle can you get, I heard some clown WM the other week saying Albion fans are the most loyal and patient in the region.

Apparently Pardew to Palace is a done deal (again).

Alan Irvine has been sacked (apparently). Tim Sherwood the favorite.

Newcastle have confirmed that they've give Pardew permission to speak to Palace.

Irvine's departure is disappointing but expected. We can only hope another manager of his calibre is ready to step in very quickly.

Wonder if the goings on at Palace and Newcastle forced their hand in fear of missing their target.

Who ever comes in is going to have a job on their hands looking at WBA last five fixtures, the new coach will need to pick up 20 points from 15 games which looks unlikely at the moment.

Jamie Carragher in a highly unprofessional manner just (figuratively) wet himself when told that Coloccini was the favourite for the Newcastle job. Seems a ridiculous appointment, but no more ridiculous than Monk who thus far has done a decent job at Swansea.

Sad for Alan Irvine. A man not ever suitable for the top flight. I can only assume this has happened because Peace can bring someone better in. It won't be Pulis.

You can't blame Irvine for taking the job, he didn't even apply - Peace actually headhunted him. Who would turn it down? But it was never going to work, however good a coach he is reputed to be he had proven already at Championship and League One level that he was nothing more than a mediocre manager who played ultra-defensive football.

After years of showing exactly how the DoF model should work they're now showing how it works at its worst - random signings who the head coach doesn't want or trust, the head coach bizarrely being bottom of the food chain as the coaching staff/DoF etc are all sacrosant, no-one's sure who's accountable for what - a complete mess.

What's happened to Yacob over there? They looked to have a cracking midfield with him and Mulumbu yet one has vanished and the other doesn't seem to start any longer.

Tony Pulis in talks with WBA, really can't see that working unless Peace is completely overhauling the system at the club or whether Pulis is happy to work under the regime set up.

I don't think he'll take it, there would need to be a massive compromise from one side or the other over the structure and I don't see Peace giving him the transfer budget he'd want.

Surely the same problem will come as it did with Palace ie lack of funds to push the club further on, the squad he'd need to spend a lot of money in January to. If he does take it is expect to see Berahino sold and the money used on two wingers. Pulis sides rely on good width with players who can whip good balls in something Albion simply do not have.
Either there is a compromise by both or one side is ditching it's ethos.

I'd be surprised if he took it due to the DoF situation but I think he'd have more funds to play with at wba than he did at palace, they have thrown money at some mediocre players in the last couple of years
