The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2014/15

I suspect he would go back to Spain. I'll defend him because he's inherited a squad of peahearts, and recruitment is seemingly out of his hands - but his English is not good and it's hard to see where you go from Spurs. You can't go upwards if they sack you and downwards...it's either rubbish, perpetually insecure jobs (Villa/QPR/Albion et al) or stuff that's not available (Swansea/Stoke).

I think Spurs will give him at least two more windows, probably three. Realistically they should have chosen AVB over the squad last December. He at least froze out Adebayor, such a cancer and yet so many managers believe they will be the one to get him working.

Spurs can't afford to get rid of another manager, he needs January and the summer to sort out the squad IMO otherwise you're just starting again every year with a new manager, new plans and a new type of personnel required. Spurs annoy me as I always want them to be better than they are, have everything in place to challenge top 4 and Europe but end up just being a bit crap every year.

Danny Kelly made a point on Talkshite last week about how his style of play suits English players and those whose game has improved under him, Lallana, Lambert, Ward Prowse, Shaw, Mason, Rose, Naughton are all English. Far from conclusive proof with Schneiderlin being an obvious exception so I'm not sure I buy into the nationality point. I do think you need a certain type of mentality/style to play his style. Spurs are too concerned with trying to make last Summer's investment work and less bothered about whether the the style of play advocated by the manager they appointed fits those players.

That will be interesting.

The London Evening Standard claims Baldini faces an internal inquest as questions are being asked about his role at Spurs. I reckon Pochettino has had enough of this squad of frauds.

Uwe still at wigan? Thought he would get the sack after that bolton game

Yeah, Whelan has backed him since. Not sure it really means anything if they carry on the way they are. This is a man who said he'd never appoint a foreign manager and then hired Martinez and Rösler.

Capello is close to quitting as the Russia Manager as he hasn't been paid for months and the Russian FA have said they can't afford to pay him.

Linked to the Rooney thread, it never occurred to be he was a black manager until 5live made a point of mentioning him being only the third in the league today. I guess that's how it should be.
