It’s not the opposing, it’s all the comments following.

For what it’s worth, the term ‘snowflake’ is as bad as ‘I’m not racist but’.

Why? I am glad that people are prepared to stand up to that type of bullshit 'humour'. You have to challenge these people. Unfortunately Glasgo has shown no care at all for people who find it unacceptable, even PPB who has said so herself.

I was not trolling, i have no offence barrier what so ever.
We went to a comedy club my wife got really offended on my behalf because one of the comedians was so bigoted and racist towards the English. I found some of it funny some not funny not because of the subject material it just was not funny, he got lots of cheers for the items i found not funny but no laughs.

The manager came round asking for feedback my wife complained i laughed and apologised aaying ahe's taking offence on my behalf which I did find funny.
My comment was the comdian was lazy it's easy to stand up in Glasgow and use England the other comedians were all far cleverer in their subject matter. My view was i cannot laugh at jokes about paedophilia, disability etxc and get all offended because i am the aim of the jokes, and I don't.

I believe jokes can and should be made around any thing and anyone some people will find it funny some will not humour is subjective.
My favourite comedians are Chubby, Lee Evans, Jimmy Carr, at the minute i really like Muckey Flanagan.

What amuses me is the Warning do not read if offended yet people still read despite the warning some people just like to be offended so they can take the high ground.

I'm not sorry for offending the warning was there dont read if your going to be offended.
My humour is like my music tastes very wide ranging.
Definitely seen some pretty big holes in anti-offense armour over your time on this forum.
Glasgowolf is entitled to have his opinions. The fact most posters think his opinion and 'taste' belongs in an era best forgotten is a good reflection of the members of the forum (IMO) and I'm delighted that people don't find that 'joke' funny.

I do object to being called a snowflake though. I hate the term and think people that use it are utter cunts, the type of cunt I would love to see given a smack in the mouth, or maybe both eyes whilst they're handcuffed to a sink...
I feel like I've seen you call other people snowflake on this forum in the past, or certainly words to that effect belittling someone else's view on how offensive something you've said to them was.

The jokes are shit, distasteful and not needed. The reaction and dare I say it the bullying (Which happens on here too often) is far worse.

Really? So just ignore the offence caused to a female poster and others offline?

Bullying does happen on here, don't think the above can even remotely be put under that label though.

For some sort of clarity and end to this, could the mod team confirm they've agreed the action of editing the post is their final decision please?

No, PPB said it was offensive to her, which is fair enough, so in my opinion the post should be deleted and Glasgo should have a warning.

If someone called me a snowflake, would it offend me? No and should someone tell somebody else whether it’s offended me or not? No.

I used to have a table at Christmas function in Birmingham and the one year they had Chubby Brown there and a lot of his jokes offended me, especially when he was taking the pee out of Elle Symons. I haven’t had a table since and explained my reasons to the organiser. I wouldn’t tell others whether they should have a table or not.

I applaud both yourself and Young Wolf because you actually campaign (if that’s the right word) against things you’re against, so although I don’t agree with you on this point, this is my final word on it because I respect you both.

Thank you. That's literally the point myself and YW were trying to get too I'd imagine, not just because PPB was offended, but because it had the likelihood to offend plenty of people (and I'd actually like to see this forum become more inclusive). It hasn't been tolerated but previously there was no indication of this response so that's why I was happy to keep talking about why the post shouldn't be acceptable.

It's because of the things I've worked on and seen that it's important for me to not be silent, whether we agree or not - likewise I have no problem with a debate with anyone about the issue, Glasgow included.

I likewise have no idea why anyone gets upset being called a snowflake. Tells me more about the person doing the name calling than myself.

Back to the crappy jokes....

Ah I love a good double standard. Do you think you and YW as the authorities on what is offensive could publish what I should and shouldn't be offended by please as I clearly don't know. Ta in advance.

Jokes are just jokes. They're not real life. If they're in poor taste then by all means say so, but Glasgow got way too much abuse for it. Boozad even called him a c**t over it and never got pulled up on it.

As for being offended, well that's purely down to the individual. It doesn't make them right or wrong.

Not many people know this, but A Tale Of Two Cities was originally published in two local newspapers.

It was The Bicester Times and it was the Worcester Times.

What's the difference between Boris Johnson and a flying pig?
The letter "f".

Does that mean that BJ has also 'received' Cameron's cock?

Before my surgery, the anesthetist offered to use knockout gas or whack me over the head with a canoe paddle.

It was an ether/oar situation.

Well that was good!
Haven't been on here in many months and some of the stuff on here really made me laugh, most of them were jokes but I've obviously missed something 'important'!
As you all know I've been banned a couple of times and am delighted to say was even a mod when the mods had real modding to do.
But as the content of a particular 'joke' has been removed, I have to say I'm amused to say I have no idea what a 'SNOWFLAKE' is. So, can't say I'd be offended if I were called one.
Clearly I don't get out very much.
Can someone tell me what it means?

One interpretation is it's a wet liberal who is easily and looks to be offended
The other is it's a word used by people who know they are being offensive to justify their right to be so, basically a replacement for the term PC.

Apparently someone has been shot with a starter pistol at our local athletics track this morning.

Police think it may be race related.
