The January 2024 "Will we actually sign a striker or just Che Adams/Kieffer Moore" Transfer Thread

Forest determined to get themselves a points deduction
It does feel like a fuck you strategy particularly as the year that screws them is apparently the last one in the Championship so is still included in this year's calculations.

Somewhere between 0 and 2. I know exactly where I'd put my money

It’s just all so predictable, isn’t it?

I feel bad for GON. He’s overachieved against everyone’s expectations & we’ve rewarded him with one signing for the under 23’s.

I know he’s a professional & will just ‘crack on’, but in private it must be demotivating to not be backed at all.

It’s a bit of a joke from the club again.

It also pricks the Hobbs is in charge things will be different now balloon

Yes?
My expectations have been wildly exceeded by us getting Lemina the Younger in. Did people really expect anything more?

Nice to see the babbies throwing the toys out of the pram because they didn't get their sweeties...

See I don't think that is what is happening, not here at least. Everyone had fairly realistic expectations about what we could and couldn't do, several have pointed to what data about depth and injuries shows you shouldn't do, and that it's something we have done in the recent past, which is inactivity.

It's s clear the club have identified a need, that most fans can also see. Yet we haven't addressed it.

We ran a dangerously small squad previously and didn't have enough depth and it lead to some terrible spending as a result. People aren't after a transfer for the sake of it.

Off topic but you shouldn't be giving babies sweets regardless.

It's the no depth thing for me. This is getting to worse levels than Nuno's famous small squads.

Just an u23 to cover Cunha, 1cb to cover 3 starters, 1 fullback being used to cover both sides.

Yet we're rich in options in the middle of the park. That's the ideal for the other positions too!

We're just fans, but our scouting department should be professional. If the former Head Scout and all of them can't find a reasonable list of targets then they're incredibly incompetent. Or (as been alluded to) there's more going on with how Fosun are willing to operate the club.

Hodge will finish watching the game from the subs bench then join QPR on loan (source Liam)

Not fucking good enough. It’s not like we have run light on strikers before and been bitten on the arse either.

Sasa should never have been allowed out without a player already in place.
