The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

From bits I’ve seen and read, centre midfielder who keeps things ticking, starts attacks from deep. Can see why Carrick likes him anyway!
Looked very good in their play off games against Cov. Hope we do sign someone of that ilk to compete with Gomes/Lemina/Traore in the middle. Tommy Doyle from City another similar player, potential for a loan with option to buy?

There's definitely going to be incomings in the attacking positions soon. I dont usually subscribe to the "we wouldnt let them go if we hadnt got someone close" line but Podence is going to go, Adama already gone so I very much doubt (hope) they'd loan out Chiquinho without being confident of at least one in. We do have a number of other attacking players but weirdly some of them don't seem to be suited to playing wide or as a 10.

Blimey! The Club is going to town with Doc vids on Youtube. It`s like the second coming!

Coming is much more pleasurable than watching him amble about ineffectually at full-back

Our super keeping coach has left the club

Just seen posted in another thread. My bad

Looks like Giles is heading to Luton, best of luck to the young man. The lure of premier league football will no doubt be the reason.
also will play as a wing back whereas Boro play a back four? Edwards knows him well too of course

Agree with this, the edwards factor may have swung it too. It’s crazy how things can change in football.

I’ve seen £4m for Giles floated about? I’m sorry but if he’s a Boro player and we’re buying him we’re being quoted £10m minimum for those stats.

And then we’re spending that and more on bloody Cresswell? Absolute most ridiculous transfer business I’ve ever seen.

I can't get too worked up about it, if we end up getting a similar bid for Sarkic as Stoke made then it's £8m+ through the door for three players with 0 league appearances for Wolves between them.

If the manager doesn't fancy him (seems to be the case) then it's pointless him being here.

Including the three year deal for Doc?

A) we aren't buying him
B) there don't seem to be any other offers out there
C) manager doesn't fancy him so do we keep him around not playing or loan him out again?

£5m is disappointing for Giles when he's going to a Premier league team tbh. With his season last year I'm sure we could have gotten a bit more out of Luton. Let's hope we have a decent sized sell on clause for that low a fee.

More like leaving soon. Wouldn't surprise me if someone like Forest want him.
Two things can be true.

For Podence the player, I'm glad he's not involved. For Podence the guy, it probably feels a bit shitty to get left behind while the rest of the squad goes and plays football.

Bet he's Luton's most expensive signing this summer by a distance. They aren't spending much.
