Bundesliga => Prem is a big shift as well. Might not settle immediately.

If he can do the basics I'll be happy. Kilman can't.
Why we've backed ourselves into a ridiculous corner with him is beyond me. I wouldn't have wanted us to do it if he were off the back of a good season, he did not have a good season. Not started this one well either.

The way he ducked under the cross for Doucouré's chance that Sa somehow clawed out - inexplicably bad defending. He's slow, he's cowardly and he makes tons of errors, blows my mind that we decided not only to turn down a huge bid but also hand him a mega new contract when he was already signed up for years AND make him captain.

Yep. Liam said it was cos Lop loved him but I'm sure the contract was announced after the Celtic game??

He was responsible for the disallowed goal too. Did his usual rush out to meet the player and not get fucking near him thing.

I dunno, I don't love the idea of a roster being able to change dramatically just whenever.

I like windows. Plan out for what you've got; get your boys together and take the season on. Build a team and work with what you've put together. Could always implement exceptions for scenarios like Syc described above if a club desperately needs to get the funds in.
There was nothing wrong with the old system whereby the transfer window closed about a month before the end of the season. It was much better than this hyped up system that only drives transfer fees out of all proportion with the talent available.

Probably Shi scared of the backlash. We'll sell Nunes instead and for double the money Max would have brought in. All that said, nice to have some footballers who are valued so highly by the market. Certainly beats our Div 4 days of the 80's.

Captain Quiet was terrible yesterday. Not sure he actually spoke to the ref apart from his meekish chat at the toss.

If we can use most of that money and use it properly then he can go. If we aren't going to even try to spend it or we're trying to cobble together a list of targets inside four days then no.

Well get Elvedi, possibly Brownhill and 1 other on a free/loan , 30million plus in the bank

Still think we want €60m up front with add ons on top, rather than the add ons being part of it.

Could go either way whether we accept or try one last time to push them higher.

That's the way I read it anyway €60m plus add ons, still 'only' £51m though

Gutting that Nunes wasn't what he could've been to us, there's such a good player in there. It'll be even more gutting if all we do with the money is guff like Cresswell, Brownhill/Doyle etc. We're desperate for flair, creativity and somebody that doesn't shit himself in the final third

But I mean Matheus is the latter part.

He's a good player but he'll never be anything like what he could be in a non-CL side. No-one outside that bracket can afford all the shite he causes or write off the lack of tangible output.

Maddison didn't cost Spurs what we're asking for Matheus, which one would you rather have.

Is he one of the people on the Paddy List or reliable?
