The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

Probably a bit basic but surely we are better doing this

Currently £3m short on what Brizzle City want for Scott (who is No1 target for Lop's)
Sell Giles for £5m
Pop £3m from that to top up the Scott fund
Leaving Hugo and RAN as LB with Toti as an 3rd option
If RAN goes, if we really want Cresswell, sign him then.

Get out of the way Fosun, I am your new financial controller/transfer guru
Bold of you to assume we'll spend the Giles money

Finally PTS fucking gets it. It's a strategic choice driving this over and above the FFP requirements

Are you on the Athletic Del? Myself and other posters have been asking/calling him for this for months. Sometimes I feel he gets some unfair criticism given its probably a sparing role he has there, but he has been appalling this pre season.

I think PTS had a lot of help with that article.

When we're arriving at the approximate figure of 90 million in sales , i don't think we're calculating the enormous salaries of those players that we are no longer paying are we?
I don't know, I don't know what they were on so haven't done that calculation...
Would that not shove that figure up to around 100 million?

Yeah I've been calling for him to challenge the narrative for quite a while. I'm very doubtful that that article is anymore than 20% of his own work, but hopefully having somebody that understands football finance working with him on it has been quite helpful and will result in him not just swallowing the club line without sense checking it first

So are we going with Steve typed his name and the word "and"....the rest that follows was done by Mr M Slater?
There's a fair bit in the article which is incorrect so I'll chalk that up to him too.

One of the most glaring mistakes is he thinks Wolves are a public company.

It's about £26m in wages for the year saved by rough calculation.

That's approximately 15% of turnover.

Welp.

Color me apathetic I guess. Roll on actual football.

Cresswell not training according to reports to try and force through a move whilst we are checking the backs of every chair in the corporate section looking for the funds to pay for him. A pay rise and a longer deal are his motivations for the move.

How is that footballers on their way down from their peak continue to earn the same or more than when they were at their peak?

Please don't do it Wolves.

If £3m is all it would take to settle the Scott deal and we end up missing out, whilst buying Cresswell for the same fee.... I'll be enormously pissed off.

Might make Lopetegui so angry he calls his mate to do another interview

A few journalists reporting on Twitter that we're trying to loan Alex Scott with an obligation to buy.

It's like Klarna but for football.
