Emotional return for the glorified Portuguese PE teacher, he’s cheap, out of work and more importantly he knows the club and loves the canteen food.

Nope. Working in Brazil at the mo for Botafogo. Got the job last month.

No football club puts a bid in with their finance department then going “sorry lads, we haven’t got the money”.

You’d be told at the beginning of the summer how much of a pot you have. Or in our case how much you would need to sell to have that pot - it would make sense why our first moves were to offload Neves, Collins etc and then the bids for Scott went in last week.

My opinion nothing more.

GB, has a vested interest in ensuring his friend makes a success at Wolves.

JL, has managed one of the biggest clubs in the world, and not too badly, my mates think he was hard done too. He was successful at Sevilla, a club on a Par with Chelsea, Spurs etc.

Now if he is successful at Wolves, and gets us to Europe, it is not inconceivable that one of the sky 6 could come a calling, which would give GB, a huge boost having a friend in one of the Big Boys, exclusives etc.

So whilst he had the opportunity to meet JL, and put some pressure on Fosun he took that opportunity to try and force Fosuns Hand.

This is total conjecture on my part

Keen and Judah (I know) putting it down to 'internal miscommunication' 😅

Total bullshit is what it is. A corner shop knows what its budget is
Aw, I was kinda hoping y'all would call these bodegas.

And also… surely you check the money is available before you bid for players? As in, check with the financial advisor/finance team? Am I just being thick and football clubs work differently?

The only way I can see the Scott bid not going through is via Bristol wanting a big or 100% fee paid and us not wanting or being able to meet that.

There was something on the Athletic about more clubs priotising shorter or 100% fees currently due to uncertainty and unstableness of certain broadcaster deals and higher interest rates for loans to cover in the meantime.

Now I am typing it though it's feeling like something Tifo would do so will have a check.

Surely if that trend were real (no reason to disbelieve you) we'd have done that ourselves with Neves and Collins? Especially with money from Saudi Arabia where PIF can pay £47m with no issue.

Let's say we got 60% of the Collins and Neves fees (c70m) but Bristol City wanted 80% of the Scott fee(c25m), we'd still have £22m left over.

If it helps, we've signed another right back, and this one is definitely better than Doherty...

... Ellie Wilson.

Forget all those earnest Amazon documentaries, this summer would make for a great tv show. Like I say, not the crap serious ones, rather a late night BBC4 surrealist project. Maybe Fosun could get another grant from the government, an Arts Council one?

As someone who works in the arts, they’d have a job on at the minute 🤣

Jeff?

Mulling over everything that's going on (or not) right now, we keep talking of how long they pursued Lop for and how they should back him but maybe they don't want him to stay. With all the cost cutting going on and with Lop being one of the higher paid managers perhaps they hope he'll walk or attract interest elsewhere to save the pay off
Nah!!! This is tin hat territory by a long way, not only would it cost them but i think steve bruce is busy, oh hang on i bet sammy chung is on guo's e mail list.

It’s an elaborate ruse to fool selling clubs into believing that we haven’t got a pot to piss in rather than them focusing on the fact that we’ve announced sales of players to the tune of £90m this summer.
If £90m has gone straight out in paying fees for players already purchased or on clearing other liabilities then how were those debts going to be paid for if players couldn’t be sold?
