It doesn't matter that much tbhI was under the impression that selling a lot of players in a short period wasn't a great idea for FFP? Unless we're looking to definitely keep Jonny, Raul, Sa, Fabio, Podence and Kilman
Depends on the balance of the squad left behind. I suppose they're lining up players like Neto, Nunes, Gomes for big sales in upcoming windows. Alex Scott, if we signed him, would be signed with a view to sell him in for a big fee in a few years...I was under the impression that selling a lot of players in a short period wasn't a great idea for FFP? Unless we're exactly recreating Nuno's tactics then it still makes no sense as Doherty is also not much use as a conventional RWB (as shown with Ireland and at Spurs). He didn't have the engine to get up and down like you'd normally expect someone to do in that role five years ago let alone now, you have to park him miles up the pitch and have the RCH cover a load of ground in that channel defensively. And as he can't beat a man or cross you have to play him exactly as we did between 2017 and 2020, rather than how pretty much every other wing back in the world plays.I know. It doesn't seem likely, and goes against logic.
But I'm trying to make sense of Doherty and Cresswell (who probably won't even sign)
Saw him the other day, still a bit of an oddball
It's like we were actually relegated.Am I stoned? Aaron Cresswell? A three year deal for Matt Doherty? I feel like I'm being gaslit
Matheus used to take free kicks for Sporting sometimes. Just absolutely leathers them.I suppose you get dead ball threat from Cresswell (not that it's a good idea, for a variety of reasons). I'm not even sure who'd take free kicks at the moment, be they wide deliveries or for a shot on goal, Neto if he's on the pitch?

We already have Giles if that's what we wantI suppose you get dead ball threat from Cresswell (not that it's a good idea, for a variety of reasons). I'm not even sure who'd take free kicks at the moment, be they wide deliveries or for a shot on goal, Neto if he's on the pitch?
It's the least important position to recruit. Got about 8 options there. Doherty was nuts but probably a Mendes favour. Creswell is inexplicable.3 years for Doc is mad, got to be a Mendes favour. Cresswell would be OK for back up I guess, but 2.5m seems like 2.5m too much.
